Is the leap frog pad worth it if you already have an ipad that you DC plays with?
I haven't done much research on the leap pad, but it seems like a baby version of the ipda. If my 3 years old has already mastered the ipad (scary, i know) should I even bother with the leap frog?
Thanks.

My DD has mastered IPads, Droid phones, laptops, etc. BUUUUUUT I still like the Leap Pad (she has one) because I don't have to worry about her messing up files and programs as well as texting and emailing when I am not looking. I like that I don't have to be on top of her when she's playing the Leap Pad.

We don't have an Ipad, but we do have a tablet and a lap top. The leap pad has greatly reduced both of my kids desires to play with our computers/tablets because they have their own interactive device. I do limit the amount of screen time to about 15 minutes per day.
I think the questions you should ask: 1. are you afraid DC will break your Ipad (hardware)?
2. are you afraid DC will accidentally delete something from the ipad?
3. are you competing with DC for screen time on the Ipad?
4. how much technology exposure do you want your DC to have?
5. are you happy with the availability of children's software on the ipad?
6. do you want more educational software for your DC?

I dont really let my kids play with my ipad, but I do occassionally let my 6 year old play with it if I'm sitting next to her.
She LOVES her leappad. Anything new is always exciting!
