Is there a farmers market in Suffolk? where to buy fruits and vegetables?
Is there a farmers market somewhere in suffolk (near patchogue ??) Anywhere will do though because most of suffolk is easy to commute through.
What is a good place to buy fruits and vegetables.
I am coming from brooklyn so i am used to cheaper fruits and veggies from local stores. Not always as nice and waxed as things at supermarkets but preferable because i dont like waxed vegetables.

My DH swears by Meat Farms. He thinks they have much better produce than a supermarket.

I have to agree with your DH. I find they have the best produce and always sooo fresh. And not expensive at all.

I like Uncle Giupseppe's and Trader Joe's as well. I've not yet been to Meat Farms but will definitely have to check them out.

I don't know where that one is, but there is one in Port Jeff and I've been there once and never again. They had expired food on shelves that I had to bring to the attention of the manager (he didn't really seem to care), the potatoes I had bought in a bag were all rotten at the bottom of the bag, and the meat had a funky taste/smell, even though the exp. date hadn't passed.

i think it is the one in Happague? It is on the smithtown bypass. I get off of Sunken Meadow to go into stony brook. That would be Happague right?

East Islip... it's in the parking lot of the municpal building I think... but it's right on Main Street/Montauk Hwy regardless, so just drive until you find it (North side of Montauk Hwy). It's gets better as it gets later into the spring/summer.

Yes there is a Meat Farms on 347. Technically that is Smithtown but it is in a shopping center right on 347 (across the street from Friendly's).

There is a Farmers Market in Patchogue - it's in the 7-11 parking lot on Main Street. It doesn't start until July, though.

Their prices are good but their produce is not exactly fresh. Medford is bad with that.
Aside from farmers markets, you should also check the Spanish supermarkets like C-Town and Compare Foods in Farmingville.

I agree with this! I do most of my fruit/veggie shopping at the Compare Foods on Horseblock in Farmingville.

Re: Is there a farmers market in Suffolk? where to buy fruits and vegetables?
I wish there was a Pat's Farms out here!
whenever I go see my folks, I stop at Pat's Farms for produce on the way home. their prices are rediculous!! and the quality is really good.
99 cents a lb for all different types of apples, 99 cents for a cataloupe, 49 cents a lb for potatoes, less than a $1 lb for peppers, tomatoes, and most other veggies. a head of lettuce for 69 cents. CRAZY!!
I always walk out of there with a few bags full of veggies and fruit and never spent more than $20!
