is there a way that thin hair can be somewhat long?? or do i chop it off..

I HATE my hair. It's gross lately. I used to have medium thick hair that i wore curly all the time.

As the years have gone on and especially after kids, its just thin. DH loves it long..but even with getting it trimmed I find I can't take it. It looks nice for about an hour after i style it then it falls flat and just looks terrible. I should add that its always straightened, i can't stand the way it looks curly anymore.

I've layered it recently...which helped a bit..but i just don't know. It stopped falling out recently (thank god) but I have all these short baby hairs coming in...and its so so thin feeling.

Should i just chop it and see how it goes? Or is there a great product that helps?? Just looking for advice.

My hair is thin (has gotten worse after kids) and it falls a little below my shoulders. Before kids I used to be able to layer my hair and it would look good. After kids (esp. my 2nd son), I cannot do layers anymore. It looks terrible. It all has to be the same length. Maybe try that before chopping it all off? I have chopped my hair off in the past and to me it looked even thinner.

I use volumizing shampoo/conditioner as well as root thickening spray. And if I blow dry my hair, I flip my head upside down and blow it dry for added volume.
