Can you post the name of it? Is it an automatic pop-up? Changing your IE explorere page?
The reason I ask is that certain spyware programs, I had to alter the registry (not recommended if you don't know what you're doing). Both AdAware & spybot couldn't get rid of them.

My laptop is taking forever to turn on. Very slow. My wallpaper says spyware infection and my homepage on my ie is different.

I run both of these often. I also am in the habit of always deleting my history & cookies everyday. It's a pain to login LIF everytime it knocks me out, but worth it.

Download Ad-Aware and Hijackthis.
Hijackthis is an executable that will analyze your system for hijacks (these are the things that take over your homepage)
However - Hijackthis is not very user friendly - it will modify your registry and you need to know what you're doing to use it. So run it, but don't delete anything ("Fix Checked"), but create the text file and either post it here, FM it to me or post on a computer support forum and people will tell you what's safe to delete and what's not.
ETA: But run the spyware utility first because it might resolve your problem without having to use hijackthis.
