is this normal for a 9 week old?
my dd has been very alert since about 4 weeks old. but now shes always awake, alert wanting to be entertained. shes extremely noesy and wants to see EVERYTHING thats going on which i love she has such a personality already. shes always giggling and laughing. also she has pretty good head and neck control she likes to push up on her arms and hold her head up and look around if shes on her belly or if your holding her. yes shes still a bit wobbly but shes doing really well with it. When she was on her belly the other night she was leaning on her forarms looking around and BAM she rolled to her side then to her back... i couldnt believe my eyes so i did it again and showed my mom and she did it again! isnt she a little young for this???? and what about when i pick her up under her arms and her legs go straight out and shes standing with alot of strength obviously im holding her but i just feel like shes a little young for all of this. it all happened it about a week or so. she has her 2 month apt. next week. but just curious if this sounds about right for a 9 week old!

I think she is right on target!
DS just started doing it a few days ago at 6 weeks.

Girls definitely seem to roll over earlier. I found with DD and friends with girls it was around 8 - 14 weeks where as friends with boys it was closer to 3-4 months.

Re: is this normal for a 9 week old?
My DS was rolling right away - almost from the day he came home. From 6 wks on he rolled from his belly to back (flipped more like it) with ease. The other way he did it but much more sporadic and very slowly. I kept trying to tell everyone that we couldn't keep him on his back in the bassinet and no one believed me until I videotaped it!

ds rolled from belly to back at 6 weeks, but is taking longer to go back to belly. sounds like she's right on target!
