Is this normal? Question for mom's with boys

I was just changing DS and noticed the tip of his penis was purplish. This is the 1st I've ever noticed it. When they circumsized DS they did not take enough skin so the very tip usually only shows. I just happened to roll back the skin while changing him and noticed it looked purple to me. I dont pull back the skin on it all the time so I dont know how long it has been like this. I asked DH and he was no help. Chat Icon I remember pulling the skin back and few days ago and it looked pink to me.

ETA: It is not the whole thing, only the "tip". Sorry for TMI.

Yeh??? I remember reading somewhere that sometimes a purple tip can be a medical problem that causes lack of blood. Do you think I need to call the dr. now or can I wait until the morning?

Is the WHOLE tip purpole? Or just the rim of the tip? And if the whole tip is purple, is it REALLY purple, or just darker than the rest of the penis? I remember asking my mom if it was normal and she said yes. Sometimes the tip is a purplish color.

Is there anything wrapped around it, like a piece of hair or something? If not, then I think he's fine. If you are concerned, definately put a call in to the doctor tonight.

To me the whole tip looks purpleish...not purple like black, but darker compared to the rest of it (if that makes any sense).

Makes total sense. I think it's normal, but interested to hear what other moms say.

DS has the same thing. It looks purple to me too. I'm pretty sure it is normal.

I guess I just never realized it before. I would assume that if it was serious, the whole thing would be discolored.

I'm pretty sure that it is because of the extra skin.

I honestly never noticed his pee pee to be purple. I guess that he has blood vessels and whatnot but nothing that I have ever noticed.

I suggest that if you want to feel more comfortable get it looks at by a physician.
