Is this too "nice" for a kitchen table?

I think I want this style...Do you think it's too nice for a kitchen?

Thanks!

Re: Is this too "nice" for a kitchen table?

No way - I love it.

My only concern is, because it will be a "high traffic" table, the knicks and scratches on the wood.

But you'll probably have it covered whenever you use it, so that shouldn't be a problem!

Go for it.

I, really, like this and if it fits in your kitchen, go for it.

Re: Is this too "nice" for a kitchen table?

It depends...are you planning on having kids?

I was having this same dilemma the other day. I saw some GORGEOUS upholstered chairs in Fortunoff, and I thought they'd be perfect for the breakfast nook in the kitchen. When I was done seeing little hearts and daydreaming, DH snapped me back to reality by saying, "Yeah, I'd love to see your face the first time a sippy cup of fruit punch goes all over those things!"

It was then that I realized, we'd be a lot better off with something we can just wipe and clean...at least in the kitchen!

I have something similar too (antique finish so we don't need to worry about dings and the like)

I think that style in a round table would be better suited for a kitchen.

I love it but it would be too formal in my kitchen.

It's beautiful but better for a dining room.

It's gorgeous!!!!

I think it depends on what your kitchen looks like, but if it's big enough and it matches i'd go for it!

I think its really pretty, but I would be worried about eating on it everyday. Somebody is bound to drop something on the seats. I worry about that with my dining room set and we dont even eat on it that often.

i really like it and don't think it is too "nice" for a kitchen at all. IMO, it is totally normal. i have distressed wood round (leaf for oval) table w/ queen anne legs in my kitchen. if you like it, then by all means go for it. your house, your style, your decision.

True - I never thought about that. I'll have to see what the surface looks like in person and how durable it is.
I am not worried about the chair cushions bc I would probably reupholster them with a patterned fabric anyway.

Thanks for the feedback ladies!
