Is this true or just a myth?
DH said that female dogs tend to attached better to men and vise versa.... male dogs attach better with women. Is that true?
It made sense to me ONLY b/c I have a 2 SIL's and my MIL and their family dog goes nuts for my DH more so over them.
Is my DH pulling my leg??
If I have a house full of girls, should I get a male dog?

It's true for me. My male dog loves me and my female dog prefers DH for sure. Also growing up, our female cats LOVED my dad and my brother, whereas our male cats seemed to prefer the women.
Could just be coincidence though.

Not true for us....Misty adores me and likes women in general, she is iffy around most men and likes Dan but the difference is pretty obvious.
ETA: My personal opinion is that the person that spends more time with them, feeds them and trains them ends up being the alpha. Generally, the other person is favored by a second dog because the alpha dog kind of "gets" the alpha person.

Not true for us - We call Lilly Velcro because she has to be attached to me at all times. She'll snuggle with Rick, but only after definitely realizing that I am not there.

Not true for us!! While are female dog loves DH, she is more attached to me. She also tends to be scared of some men, and is usually a mush around most women.

So true!! My dog is most attached to me, Dh and my MIL. We are the ones who take care of her. My MIL takes her alot when we are out. She loves everyone but favors us.

My dog is a female st Benrard. She is more attached to me so I tend to think it's a myth. Or maybe my dog is just weird. LOL

ITA agree with this. DH was just complaining this morning that Bella is always cuddling with me and following me around. I told him it's cause I'm the one that always feeds her, takes her out, walks her and so on. He didn't like that answer!

charlotte does seem to have a special bond with my husband. i mean, he's her daddy  she listens to him like no one else -- she is still a good girl and does everything i ask of her and is soooo loving towards me and sweet but it's just this thing she has with DH. i think she definitely loves us equal and shows us equal attention -- b/c we raised her completely side by side but (and this could be my imagination) but she just seems to have a different kind of connection with vinny.
she really goes crazy for my FIL too - moreso than my MIL - she loves them both but she just has this bond with FIL. so, maybe it is true?
