Is this weird? Work bathroom question
Our office building is mostly large rooms with cubicles. The men's and women's bathrooms are right next to each other in one of those large rooms.
Picture this: the women's bathroom has a lounge and then a door into the part with the sinks and stalls. The first door leads to the lounge and faces all of the cubicles. The second door, that leads to the stalls, is to the right when you walk into the lounge.
The first door is ALWAYS open. And for some reason, the 2nd door is often left open as well.
If you are in some of the cubicles, (maybe half) you can see the bathroom stalls and hear what's going on in there.
Yes, I know that everyone pees/poops/whatever, but do people need to be listening to that while they work?
I just find it strange, and I always close the 2nd door. Is it just my own issue or is this actually weird?

It is weird. Just because we all have certain bodily functions does not mean we need to share their sounds with our coworkers.

Noooooooooooo. No. No. Close that second door. I HATE that scenario. It's like the first floor ladies room at 80 Centre Street. And I always have to pee when I get to court in the city. Yuck.

I would think it's strange & both doors should be closed unless you have a strange co-worker with a fetish.

Um....AWKWARD! I still find it insane and uncomfortable that co-workers have to listen to each other pee and poop during the day while they are IN the bathroom.

Yes, that would make me super uncomfortable. I would also close the door behind me.
I am very private when it comes to using the toilet so this would bother me a lot.

Exactly! If I sat near there, I'd be ssure those doors were always closed. Even being on the phone & hearing the flush. WTH?!

I would make sure both doors are always closed when I went in. I can see the mens room doing that :hah but I am surprised the women don't always close the doors.

I always, always close the 2nd door if it's open.
There are at least 2 people that I know of who INTENTIONALLY open it as they are entering the stalls. I gave one of them a dirty look and on my way out I closed it again.
I think it is soooo bizarre! What are these wackos thinking?
ETA: It doesn't bother me that the door to the lounge is left open, there's only a couch and a mirror in there. Someone actually eats their lunch in there every day

I would never ever use that bathroom if I knew that someone would open it and leave it open while I was in there.
