Is/Was your 6 week old on a schedule?
We are close to a schedule somewhat but not there since he still wakes at different hours in the night. Today someone asked me what his nap schedule was. When I said that there was no set time for his sleeping, just when he falls asleep, he falls asleep, she was surprised to hear he was not on a set timetable.
Should DS be napping at the same time everyday?

At that age, they make their own schedule. I'm still trying to get my 4 month old on a schedule. She is a terrible sleeper!

My DD is 9 weeks and not on a set schedule. She usually sleeps at certain times of the day but I never actually put her down for a nap. Her feedings are based on when time she eats during the night.

Nope not at all, I think that you can try but not every baby is ready at that age

Re: Is/Was your 6 week old on a schedule?
At 6 weeks DD was still "on demand" for everything, eating, sleeping and waking it all varied day to day. I am EBF. At about 8 weeks she started sleeping through the night, at about 12 weeks her morning nap became regular, by 4 months her afternoon nap became regular (although the timing still varies a bit).
However, whenever I think I've got it mastered she changes something.

Re: Is/Was your 6 week old on a schedule?
We just started to see some kind of schedule last week and she's 9 1/2 weeks right now. But she tells me when she wants to sleep. There's no telling DD anything.

You couldn't have said it better....same here. DD is 3months though and takes a regular morning and afternoon nap. She still wakes up during the night. Some nights she would sleep for at most 6hrs thru.

Re: Is/Was your 6 week old on a schedule?
My DS is almost 4 months and no schedule . He is EBF and basically eats and sleeps as he chooses. I just went back to work last week and I'm hoping he will start going to bed earlier because I'm wiped out!!!!! (he goes to bed around 11:30). I think the babysitter will try to put him on a schedule and thats fine with me. I really don't mind that he's not on a schedule.

Re: Is/Was your 6 week old on a schedule?
Funny, I just posted about this this morning. DS is on no schedule, and he is almost 4 months. I don't mind the eating varying, but I would like to get him on a somewhat regular sleep schedule--right now he is all over the place, though he does fall asleep between 9 and 10 every night.
Someone suggested getting him up at the same time every day, even if he gets up a lot at night. I may try that and see how it goes.
At 6 weeks though, I don't think it's bad that your baby is not on a schedule. They are still trying to get used to night and day at that point.

Re: Is/Was your 6 week old on a schedule?
I *think* I have DD on somewhat of a schedule at night.
She goes down between 9 to 10 pm after her last evening bottle, then sleeps for 6 hours. Has a bottle, gets changed, and is back down for another 3 hours. Another bottle and diaper change, and she is back down for another 3 hours.
It's the daytime that I don't have anywhere near down yet.

At that age we had somewhat of a sched. but DS made it- I have to say we did not have a real solid routine that I pushed until about 6-7 months old.

Re: Is/Was your 6 week old on a schedule?
My DD is still not on a real schedule. We are lucky and she is sleeping 6-8 hrs at night, but she def doesn't have a certain nap time during the day.

He goes to sleep and wakes up around the same time each day, but during the day he doesn't have a schedule at all.

Re: Is/Was your 6 week old on a schedule?
Around 5 1/2 MONTHS DS started to show signs of a pattern for his first nap. But at 7 months, we still can't figure out when he's going to nap in the afternoon.
