Re: Is your child friendly?
My DS is 18 months and he loves people. He gets so excited when we are around new people. My DD is 5 months and laughs and smiles at everyone.

Lily is friendly from a distance. She will smile and wave at strangers, but if approached, she becomes very shy and clings to us. She loves when people smile and wave back though - she knows exactly what to do to get a reaction from strangers....little performer!

Charlotte is (almost) 10m and definitely doesn't suffer from stranger anxiety LOL She will go to anyone - strangers at Starbucks - honestly, anyone that shows her the slightest bit of attention (and she gets a lot LOL), she leans over to go to them.

Re: Is your child friendly?
With people he knows VERY - he LOVES attention. With strangers he is very very choosy with his friendliness. He is pretty shy and usually does not like people he doesn't know. He won't even wave or talk to strangers usually unless he particularly likes them. I'm trying to work on this!
ETA: He would never go with a stranger without yelling Mommy or Daddy and has always been like this - but, he is shy so maybe a bad example! This is not something we taught him.

My DD never did that. She was always attached to me and didn't want ANYONE else.

Re: Is your child friendly?
Mikayla is shy at first with new people but then she opens up ALOT
Example, we went to look at some cars today, and the salesman (who was VERY nice) said hi to her when we first got there, and she was shy
about 15-20 minutes later, we were in his office and she walked up to him with her arms outstretched asking him to "pick her up"
and he did

Chelsea is overly friendly. She will go to anyone and hold out her arms to be picked up. Sometmes I don't think it is a good thing.

Re: Is your child friendly?
DS was just like this, until around maybe 13 or 14 months, then I started to notice he was shy initially with people he doesn't know or see very often. He clings to my legs, does the whole bit.
Usually it doesn't take him too long to warm up to different people though.
Hard to say if this is a phase or her personality.

Re: Is your child friendly?
As an infants, Joseph was; Maddie was not.
Maddie would go off like a car alarm if she was more than 2 feet away from me. She hated everyone. Now she's completely different.

This is DS! I was talking about this tonight at a party we were at. I told my friend, it actually makes me a bit nervous.

Re: Is your child friendly?
Not at all... when we are out and people talk to DD, she stares at them for a minute and then the bottom lip starts to quiver and she starts to cry She especially dosnt like older people but loves kids. I think i need to socialize her more or something.
