Is your trim around your house the same color?
Im not sure what to do. Some of it is stained wood and some is painted white. I wouldnt mind painting it all white but my kitchen cabinets are stained wood. Is yours all the same or different around the house?

our house is really old...almost 100 years
all the base board trim is finally painted white..but it's not the same style-it's been patched/fixed/redone over the years and is a bit of a hodge podge, but we're gutting in a few years

We gutted all of your trim and mouldings when we bought our house. All of it is now the same around the house however, it is painted differently depending on what room it's in.

Everything is white and I love how clean it looks and it goes with everything.
I am not really a fan of painting the moulding a similar color of the wall because if you paint again now you have to paint the mouldings too.

I want to paint it all white but not sure how it would look with a wood and black kitchen.

see half is wood doors, half is white, half of the door knobs etc are gold the others are silver... The trim is the same... this or that. Id like to go ALL white but does anyone have pics of what it would look like with dark wood furniture and cherry cabinets? LOL

Re: Is your trim around your house the same color?
I have all white trim in my house, and white doors. I think the white trim looks nice and pops against the wall colors, even when they are more neutral.
I don't think you need to worry about matching trim to furniture, cabinets, etc.
For example, in my formal living room and formal dining room, I have dark wood furniture and hardwood floors that are more medium/natural. And my den has dark wood furniture and white trim. My kitchen has white cabinets, but light wood furniture (table, sideboard, etc.) and white trim.
I think it's better to have consistent trim throughout the house, and white is very modern and clean looking, versus worrying about matching everything to the wood tones/decor of the room. I don't like things too matchy-matchy anyway..., you need some visual interest!

Re: Is your trim around your house the same color?
When we bought our house, one of the first things we did was paint all the trim white. It was a gross dark yellow/ orange wood.
HUGE difference.
