Isaias?
What else can 2020 throw at us? Pandemic, sharks, and now Isaisas? Let's hope it weakens and moves quickly out of here!

Re: Isaias?
This is just the beginning of hurricane season. Due to climate change, we need to expect super storms to become the norm, not the exception.

Re: Isaias?
I don't think this is a superstorm though. I thought it was just an old school tropical storm now.

Isaias?
I'm concerned - under non pandemic circumstances it would be the only story on the news but now not so much... I've heard it be compared to both Michael and Sandy...
And it's supposed to hit North/South Carolina as a hurricane again soon.

And it's supposed to hit North/South Carolina as a hurricane again soon. Not at all like Michael or Sandy. This is a tropical storm, not a hurricane. Not nearly as strong as Sandy was (and that storm had a lot more factors play in as well).
LI will see mostly high winds and rain. I'm sure the south shore will be flooding. News said worst between 2pm-9pm Tuesday.

It's probably the full moon that is inspiring comparisons.

It was supposed to hit the Carolinas as a hurricane. So that was a Michael reference. For the winds - they were comparing that we haven’t seen winds that strong since Sandy. But then again this was the Weather Channel which is excited for something that’s weather news.

Isaias?
My only concern right now is having to drive in it. I hate driving in just the rain let alone high winds...

Re: Isaias?
This is when I get super pissy with the media. This has been quietly covered until, really, yesterday. If Covid, protests, politics and all the other bullsh!t wasn't going on, all we would have been hearing about is this.
Not for nothing, THIS can be problematic for us. THIS can cause us harm, power outages, down trees, etc. and we should be prepared. But this gets minimal coverage and the priority was given to news about the president threatening to cancel Tik Tok. Unbelievable.

But it has not been a major headline because they are too busy covering (fill in less important info). NOW it is a major story since we are going to be under water tomorrow with no power.
