It ain't easy being green! UPDATED 5/29
my level II is this afternoon.
I have been a staunch since before even getting pregnant...and today I am SERIOUSLY waivering.
I am not sure if it's just my nerves getting the better of me (I am so scared something will be wrong with Newton) and I just need to focus on something else or what....but I feel myself being slightly swayed.
dh is no help...telling me he wants to know.
but I DON'T
at least...I never did before
grrr I wish I never knew I could know at this appt!!!
UPDATE 5/29
good morning everyone. well, I didn't find out the sex of the baby...I was too busy worrying myself sick about the spot we saw prominently on my baby's heart during the ultrasound. it was in the left ventricle.
to me, it looked like what a calcium deposit looks like on an xray (but I know nothing of reading ultrasounds so I don't know if things show colored the same) and it was just...THERE.
everything else is present, accounted for, and the right size and shape. there were no structural abnormalities found. every single thing was fine.
except that damned white spot. I am so mad to see that on my baby.
as soon as we saw it, she IMMEDIATELY asked me when I turned 34. my heart sank. I told her about 2 weeks ago.
so, we have a soft marker.
my results from the NT scan were Downs 1:6,701 and a 1:>10,000 for Trisomies 18/13.
I had the blood work for the second part of the test drawn at 16 weeks (my last appt.) so I will find out if my risk factor went up at that point, and I guess we'll go from there.
I think I will find out the sex if it comes down to getting an amnio or not, b/c I am pretty sure boys and a higher incidents of Downs than girls do, and that may be a deciding factor.
but as of now I am still .
thanks for reading.

Re: It ain't easy being green!
When I had my level II, the technician asked in the beginning if we wanted to know.
She told us she wouldn't reveal what we were having until the end though, since some mom's get really upset or overly happy and start sobbing.
Make sure you let your technician know that you don't want to find out.
Good luck this afternoon!! Seeing your little one again will be amazing, I promise!!

Be strong. I can't even begin to describe how amazing it was to find out in the delivery room. IMO, it's definitely worth the wait.

Re: It ain't easy being green!
I was the same way. DH and I really wavered as well. But when it came down to it, and they asked if we wanted to know- I knew deep down I didn't and felt I would be disappointed if they told me. So it was easy to make the decision.
Does that make any sense?

Re: It ain't easy being green!
I have never wanted to know. I think it will definately by worth it to find out in the delivery room. I think of it as though since I never knew if I was having a girl or boy first, why find out 4 months before it happens? I can't wait to be surprised!

Re: It ain't easy being green!
I thought it would be hard too & started to waiver on staying at the Level II.
But I was excited seeing the heart and all the other parts that I didn't feel like I was missing out on not finding out.
Good Luck!!!!!

Re: It ain't easy being green!
Go with your gut feeling while you're there. But if you have felt really strongly about being team this whole time though...you can definitely hold out I think. You're halfway there!
I don't think I could ever not find out, but that's just me. My mother is trying to convince me not to. I told her since she feels so strongly about it, I'll be sure not to tell her once I do find out. Good luck!

Re: It ain't easy being green!
Be strong! Once you hear how your little baby is doing you'll probably go back to not wanting to find out. I don't know how team green girls do it. I wanted to know as soon as I POAS!
good luck with your level II!

Sorry I am no help...
I say wait it out! I thought being green was the hardest thing ever. I stressed over it from day 1. Then the moment came when the tech asked me if I wanted to know and so fast the word NO jumped out of my mouth so fast!
I found out all 3 times what gender I was having. I have no regrets. I shopped til I dropped and I had all their furniture and accessories waiting... It is exciting knowing what you are having b/c you can day dream about the baby all day long knowing exactly what it is.
This time I DON'T know and I can tell you that I have never been more excited to be surrpised. The feelings don't compare. I now day dream about that moment when my Dh screams out. I am so proud that I waited and gave myself the biggest surprise of my life.
Flame me but not nothing compares to waiting til birth. I haven't experienced it just yet, but I will soon and I can't freaaaking wait!!!!
So hre is my 2 cents
You can shop til you drop later!!!!!

Re: It ain't easy being green!
I know it isn't easy being green but I am almost 37 weeks and team green and I am so excited that the end is almost here and soon I will find out what my little one is. I can't wait for the moment in the delivery room when they announce what it is.
I am a huge planner and have planned for everything but the sex of the baby! I have everything else ready for this baby. Besides, I am sure we will get lots of boy/girl items once the baby is here.
You can do it! I am sure it is one of the best surprises ever!
