itchy eyes???

my ds was complaning about 3 days ago that he was seeing spots and he was rubbing his eyes but then he seemed fine. he got a cold right after and has been snotty and now has a cough. it seems like a normal cold but he's rubbing his eyes and says they are itchy.
they aren't red but maybe puffy, like when you're sick.

is this a regualr cold or should i be worried and go to dr.?

It's probably related to the cold, but I'd take him to the ped to be sure. Could be the start of pink eye.
