its been 4 weeks post c-section

my DD will be one month old tomorrow and i cant believe it! Chat Icon Where has the time gone? Im still very sore 4 weeks later and I also started realizing that Im not eating well at all. I might only eat one meal a day, and its just getting worse and worse. I have NO desire to eat and the thought of eating something I dont want to eat makes me gag. During the pregnancy I was sort of this way too just not as bad and I was hoping it would get better once I had the baby and it hasnt. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a reason behind this, ie. hormones?

Dunno if there is a reason behind it, but I had NO appetite for a good month after my c-section. I wasn't sure if it was stress bc DS was in the NICU or from the birth. I literally had to force myself to eat at least one meal, and even then I could barely do it. But lo and behold.....it has returned with a VENGEANCE!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

aw, well with your child in the NICU, I could definitely understand not eating. Do you think it has anything to do with shifting parts around in your body to get the baby out?

I had no appetite for about 3-4 weeks. DH would just put my favorite foods in front of me. Some I'd eat some I just couldn't.

I found that eating soups and lighter meals was easier for me.

Do you have a fever or any new pain? My doctor was concerned about an infection because of my lack of appetite and a low grade fever. She put me on an antibiotic. Nothing ever actually surfaced though.

im not having any new pain, just still the same pain since the surgery.. very very sore..i still cant touch mybelly or have my shirt rub up against it. I wear a belly band across my belly to protect it from my shirt and the bed sheets when I sleep. Its awful.. it feels like my skin is burning. :(

You may want to call your doctor to rule out an infection. At this stage in your recovery it's better to be safe than sorry. I hope you feel better soon!
