It's official - Hillary Clinton to run for President

Why I don't like her
I didn't like her when she came to NY just to win a seat
I didn't like that she'd say one thing on air then change it and the media would go with it
I didn't like that she was so backhandish about Bengahzi "What difference does it make"
I didn't like that she decided to make her OWN rules because she's a Clinton
I didn't like that she smiles and shoves off any scandal as unimportant
I don't like that she wiped her email servers clean
I don't like the history of her controversy in Arkansas
I don't like that she assumes to represent women
I don't like that if she was a male, with a brain clot, folks would rule that candidate unfit for presidency or at least a concern (see Sen McCain is too old, etc).

And lastly, but most importantly...

I just don't like her. She seems evil to me and using her sex as an excuse to say "I'm just a woman and folks are afraid of women" if she were a he, I'd still feel the same.

I feel this way based on her actions, her persona, her attitude, the way she holds herself. Just as I would a man. She needs to fade from history.

Re: It's official - Hillary Clinton to run for President

I will 100% vote for Hillary if she wins the nomination.

I think she would do a great job and I am tired of all of the right wing hack jobs that don't offer anything substantive. Its tiring already.

In this election my biggest concern is the Supreme Court so I will support the Democratic nomination. Many of the justices are quite old and I fear for our country if a conservative is put in charge of the court.

1. I didn't like her when she came to NY just to win a seat
2. I didn't like that she'd say one thing on air then change it and the media would go with it
3. I didn't like that she was so backhandish about Bengahzi "What difference does it make"
4. I didn't like that she decided to make her OWN rules because she's a Clinton
5. I didn't like that she smiles and shoves off any scandal as unimportant
6. I don't like that she wiped her email servers clean
7. I don't like the history of her controversy in Arkansas
8. I don't like that she assumes to represent women
9. I don't like that if she was a male, with a brain clot, folks would rule that candidate unfit for presidency or at least a concern (see Sen McCain is too old, etc).

10. I just don't like her. She seems evil to me and using her sex as an excuse to say "I'm just a woman and folks are afraid of women" if she were a he, I'd still feel the same.

I think your last reason is important. If you feel in your gut that she is wrong for you, she probably is. I felt like that about George W. Bush, even though I did like the idea of compassionate conservatism, among other things. By his second term I could very clearly articulate why I din't like him, but on his first run, it was more of a feeling. It was also the first election I voted in.

I did want to respond o some of your other reasons:
1. I completely agree. I don't think this should be legal. That being said, so many of them do it. Doesn't make it right, just not unusual.
2. Again, I feel like that is a politician thing rather than a Hilary Clinton thing.
3. Here, I disagree with you. I don't know if you are aware of the context of that conversation, but it is much less inflammatory than as it was represented.
6. I posted a great link about this above. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me.
7. Are you talking about the Cattle scandal? I don't know if she is guilty, but, according to my research, there isn't compelling evidence against her.
8. I don't feel like she does. I think any minority candidate, like Rubio or Warren, is going to be asked a lot about being the first ___ president, so they respond accordingly.
9. People are saying this. They said it about McCain, and he still ran. I don't think it is why he lost, but I think it will hurt Clinton in a minor way.

Anyway, I thought your points were interesting and wanted to address them. I'm no huge Clinton fan, but it seems like a lot of the criticism against her is misguided or unfair. My hope is that we will have a viable third party candidate, but that is unlikely, I know.

Re: It's official - Hillary Clinton to run for President

I personally would like to see her in office. But I don't think it will happen.

She is extremely smart, she has years of political expeerience, specifically with regard to the presidency and she's not afraid to speak up and stand up -

But I don't think she'll win b/c she's too polarizing of a figure - the same reasons I think she's great are a complete turn off to someone else.
Where I see her as not engaging in petty nonsense, someone else would see her as brushing off a scandal .....

You can't just take a statement like "what difference does it make." out of context. This is what she said...

"With all due respect, the fact is, we had four dead Americans! Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night and decided they'd go kill some Americans?! What difference, at this point, does it make?! It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator. Now, honestly, I will do my best to answer your questions about this, but the fact is that people were trying in real time to get to the best information. The [Intelligence Community] has a process, I understand, going with the other committees to explain how these talking points came out. But you know, to be clear, it is, from my perspective, less important today looking backwards as to why these militants decided they did it than to find them and bring them to justice, and then maybe we’ll figure out what was going on in the meantime."

She was making a point that the line of questioning was stupid and we should be focusing on finding the attackers, not arguing about whether it was spur of the moment or not.

And what rules did she make up?

Wow. That was really taken out of context! And that is why whenever I see a quote that makes me go "wtf?", I read the entire statement bc anyone can take a quote and spin it into something completely different.

Speaking generally, not just about Hillary: Also, don't only vote on social or national issues. Check on legislation that really affects YOU. For example, there is often proposed legislation to eliminate the mortgage interest deduction. Probably most of the people on this board benefit from that and would lose thousands if it went away. But no one (not just on here but in debates or any other discourse) ever talks about that. When I look at a politician's record I always want to know if they have articulated a clear position on that. How will their actions affect my pocket? My health, or that of the ones I love? Women's rights? My childrens' livelihoods - education, opportunities, etc.? Do your research!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with voting on social issues.

I would never in a million years support a candidate who was not in support of marriage equality. It is not an issue that impacts me directly but I think it speaks volumes about someone's character and will mean more to our society going forward. I don't need a few extra dollars in my pocket - what I need is for every American to be treated the same when it comes to something so basic.

This.

I just looked it up... FDR was related - either by blood or by marriage - to 11 presidents!!!

But yeah, being related to a former president is a rather arbitrary criteria for disqualifying a candidate. It's not like anyone is inheriting the job.

In my life time there has been a bush in office for 12 years. If another comes to office for 8 that's 20 years under a family. Same with clintons. It's just part 2 of similar ideas. I want change. Someone new and new blood. That is my opinion.

2000's are very very different from 1700-1900's.

I don't want another Bush in office either, and I am not a Republican but at the moment I'll take Jeb over Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio. Anyway, the ideas on both sides are supported by their parties, I don't think there will be a radical difference between Clinton and any other potential nominee. Same with the Republicans, though I think Bush is at the moment the most moderate from what I've read.

For me it has to do with money and almost a feeling of some sort of monarchy. While I wouldn't say enact a law, I saw use your voting right to keep things new and don't let money buy an office.

This point is so important and something people really should keep in mind. I don't love Hillary, but I will vote for her if she's the nominee b/c I do not want a Republican president potentially picking 4 Supreme Court Justices. I think Democrats will really need to stick together this time around and not be giving away votes to third party candidates b/c you know the Republicans won't be throwing votes anywhere else.
