Exactly one of the reasons I despise her. I really cannot for the life of me understand how Americans are okay with the fact we are being poisoned and have almost completely ruined our food source?
An apple that never rots?
Roundup injected into seeds?
We have frankenfood.

Do you guys mean those "scientific" studies paid for by yours truly Monsanto?
There is nothing wrong with the old fashioned way of growing fruit and vegetables. Google what roundup. I don't need a side of chemicals with my zucchini.

Yes but how many people are actually growing their own fruits and vegetables? Organic farmers use pesticides too.

Yes but how many people are actually growing their own fruits and vegetables? Organic farmers use pesticides too.
Everything I write below is fact except second to last paragraph.
USDA organic foods are grown in safe soil, do not have modifications, and must remain separate from conventional products. Farmers are not allowed to use synthetic pesticides, bioengineered genes (GMOs), petroleum-based fertilizers, and sewage sludge-based fertilizers.
Organic is as close as you can get in our current world to natural.
Then conventional food does have pesticides yes. But fresh conventional vegetables are still good to eat if you do not have access to or cannot afford organic.
THEN there is GMO. Instead of spraying pesticides leaving food like banana and melon which has a hard shell protected they put the chemical IN the seed thus rendering the whole thing riddled with roundup.
Many states are pushing for labeling. (This is my opinion) Even if you love GMOs and think they're awesome and want to eat them every day at the very least everyone should agree we have a right to know and there should be labeling. I want to know if my food has GMOs so I can choose to NOT eat it.
FYI GMOs are banned in 26 countries. In the USA the typical GMO crops are corn, soy, zucchini, papaya, sugar beets. Unless it is organic it is 95% GMO. And we know corn syrup and soy bean oil are in basically everything now.

I don't really have time to link up specific articles, but these scientists have spent their life on research for universities. I'm so sick of the argument that they are shills for Monsanto. It's such a cop out and, to me, conspiracy theory. Kevin Folta had a a great response on his blog http://kfolta.blogspot.de/2014/08/university-of-floridas-deep-monsanto.html .
And FYI, just because something is banned in other countries doesn't necessarily make it bad. Homosexuality is banned in many countries. GMOs are banned because of political pressure.
I'm very in tune with talks and articles about GE food.

And you're entitled to your choice whether you want to eat them or not. The issues a lot of people have with Hillary is that she is NOT for product labeling and there are many people like myself that want to know if heir food is genetically modified or not.

Re: It's official - Hillary Clinton to run for President
I will only chime in to say that I am also completely against GMOs and in particular I do not trust our government agencies that are responsible for keeping our food safe. I have an extended family member that is a USDA inspector for almost 30 years and what actually goes on is pretty scary. I have personally grown and raised 50% or more of my families food for several years ( till about 3 years ago) and I can tell you growing truly organic crops and/or raising food producing animals without medication is extremely difficult and costly. GMOs are good for business not for people, that's the bottom line IMO.
ETA: just as it should be a constitutional right for all people to marry the person they love, it should also be a constitutional right that all of our food is clearly and correctly labeled without companies being able to beat the system.

No one knows the answer to your question, but they are working on it. Correlation does not equal causation. There are so many things that became popular when GE food came out-- computers and internet became popular, mobile telephones, IVF, and many other things. Who knows?
As for why I am thinking of voting for Hillary? Well, I can't say for sure now. I need more facts. But I can say, I already do not care for Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio. I am also very concerned about 4 possible Supreme Court judges retiring.

Gay marriage for one. Very important court cases coming up and conservatives, like current justice Scalia, are big on setting this country back in time.

Everyone needs to stop with the hystrionics, please. There seems to be a lot of misinformation out there - and almost all of it is skewed to one side or another.

Some people enjoy debate and discussion. If you are not one of those people, why not read another thread?
I didn't realize we had posting police around here.

By all means, discuss away - who doesn't enjoy a vigorous debate. It's the ugly blanket statements about one group or another that I'm refering to. You may want to dial down the snark.
