Re: Its time to go...
As you said....I think it's time to go! The caregiver's lax attitude would be enough to alarm me. I think she has some nerve!!!

I'm sorry to hear this Paulette I know how hard it is to deal with this, but as you know you are definitely doing the right thing by taking her out of there.
If there's anything I can do, let me know!!!

OK...so dh is making me nervous. He REALLY does not think she belongs in a center. He feels she is still little. Honestly, I do too. However, the repeated issues just become compiling. KWIM Ideally, I know she and her kids love Gilly and I know thats what I want...However, I am gonna kick myself in the arse a few months from now when another situation arises. Her defense...."Well , you know she is safe now and all was fine downstairs". To me that is hindsight.
While I am not crazy about daycare, I love that DS is in a center. I can come in anytime. There are windows to his infant room. I can make unannounced visits anytime. It's "open door" and I love that. Too many eyes to hide things that much!
I would have picked up my kid, her things and never go back.
I would have freaked out wondering what she was doing with DC.

I think you need to get the hell out of that place ASAP!!! I cannot believe she said no other place would tell you how your child is doing! I used to call and check on DD a lot when she first started! I think a center is great..more eyes, more ears, and eight kids her own age to play with everyday!!
Paulette I totally agree with this. I call anytime and as many times as I need to. Some days not at all, others several times if I think she's off.
I prefer a center for the reasons listed above. Hannah really does well with a class of 8 kids her age. She is really thriving.
Maybe go look at a few with DH.

ITA. With DS's center, if they sign up a new baby, they have someone on hand to help take care so the ration is always 1:4. DS is thriving in his center. He's 8 mos now and started when I went back to work when he was 13 wks. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that.
ETA: There are days I call several times per day to check on DS and I speak with either his teacher or the director. I've never felt I couldn't call to check on him.

Where do you live? Maybe we can all suggest our centers. For me, I choose a center, because I liked the fact that there are checks and balances. There are cameras in every classroom and you can call as often as you want to. Ava's teachers have even taken pix of her doing activities so that I can see that she was happen, and you can see the date/time stamp on the pic. We used Tutor Time in West Islip.
Good Luck!

You've had issues there before, it's definitely time to move on. This place is not making you feel comfortable and that's enough.
I agree

Re: Its time to go...
Look for another place. We go to a busy big chain place, and they encourage us to come during the day and spend time with our kids during lunch or whatever, and to call as many times as we'd like. It's about the child AND you!

Re: Its time to go...
Definitely find another place! When I watch kids, their parents call to check in every day or I call to give updates when I see fit. You're entitled to know what is going on with YOUR child. That's ridiculous that they say otherwise.

Re: Its time to go...
I think half the problem is that we are both the same age so I think she doesnt realize I am the mommy as much as she thinks I am her peer. She told me yesterday that "her" friends told her I am overreacting that in a nutshell Gilyl was safe. Meanwhile, I feel like I gave her the benefit of the doubt. And I have yet to see any mommies on here saying they would have been ok with this scene.

Re: Its time to go...
I would definitely get out of there.
DD is in a private (but state regulated) daycare...and they LOVE her and she loves them.
I call at least once a day, and they always tell me all about how she is, what she ate, if she pooped, etc....and when I go to pick her up, the door is usually open and I can walk right in (it's a small palce and they can see the door. If they are in another room, the door is locked, but they always answer after one knock - no matter how loud the kids are inside.
DD has been in this daycare since she was 8 weeks old, and I have always felt comfortable. That is most important. "Mommy intuition" will tell you the right thing...and you can find another center where they love her and she loves them (it might take some adjusting, but she will adapt)...
