I breastfed my twins for 6 months. Definitely the hardest but most rewarding thing I have ever done.

Congrats to all of you - I had no supply so we only made it 7 weeks, but I am proud of that since it was so hard on me and nothing really ever came in.

Re: It's World Breastfeeding Week- what's your success story?
We had big latching issues in the beginning, then nipple confusion and mastassis...... I was ready to quit after the first few weeks but my mom convinced me to stick it out for the first month and then decide....
I'm proud to say that I've been a FTWM since 3 months. DD turned 1 this week and we are still going strong EBFing

Re: It's World Breastfeeding Week- what's your success story?
EBF and pumped for my twins until they were both 12 weeks.
At one point I was pumping 18 oz a session!
1 of my sons was diagnosed with a severe milk allergy ad no matter what I did he was still in agony so he went on to amino acid formula.
I EP for my other son until he was 6 months.

Re: It's World Breastfeeding Week- what's your success story?
EBF until he self weaned at 15 months (I was 2 months pregnant at the time, which may have played a part). And from 6weeks to 12.5 months, I completely eliminated all dairy (including hidden) from my diet due to his milk allergy. With this baby, I plan to EBF until he/she self weans as well!

Re: It's World Breastfeeding Week- what's your success story?
Nursed DD for 13 months! Would have gone longer, but she self weaned.
EBF for her first 3 months and then supplemented with formula when I went back to work.
I work a high pressure high stress job, so I am proud that I pumped for so long despite the fact that my direct manager tried to convince me numerous times that formula is just as good as breast milk.
If I am blessed with baby #2, I hope to make it 6 months EBF!
I loved the time with my little girl and I am so happy I made the sacrifice for her.

Re: It's World Breastfeeding Week- what's your success story?
EBF my boys til 14-15 months. Weaned #1 when I was 16 wks along with #2. Went back to work in Manhattan (so a long day) with both around 4 months and pumped A LOT to continue and had a stash of 700 oz or so at one point with each.

Re: It's World Breastfeeding Week- what's your success story?
I breastfed all three of my babies to at least their 1st birthday.
With #1 I dealt with latching issues initially then went on to BF her to 11.5 months- I stopped because I was pg with #2 and it just got too painful.
With #2 she completely refused bottles and was a voracious eater. She nursed every 2 hours until she was 5 months old- and I was working 3.5 days a week. I BF her until she was 14 mos old- I weaned because I was pg with #3.
My third just turned a year old on July 19 and he is in the process of self weaning. He was by far my biggest accomplishment in that I EBF him while taking care of 2 toddlers AND while working full time.
I am extremely proud of this accomplishment. BFing is HARD but I am so blessed that it came so easily to us, had such supportive people around me, and I was blessed with a great supply.

Re: It's World Breastfeeding Week- what's your success story?
I just finished nursing less than a week ago at 13 months. DS self weaned. We had a long road but with every bump we worked through it and made it.
We dealt with 3 nursing strikes, over supply, AF coming 5m pp and dealing with a HUGE dip in my supply and fighting like HE LL to bring it back. Drinking nasty mothers milk tea, the mmp drops, smelling like Ihop for weeks.
I am so super proud of myself. Everyone in my family whispered about me not being able to do it and I did!! YAY ME!! and a big YAY to everyone who has tried, even one day or those who even wanted to but couldn't. YAY!!!

Re: It's World Breastfeeding Week- what's your success story?
EBF until 20 months! DS had a dairy and soy allergy so I put myself on a very strict diet so I could continue to nurse him. I also dealt with mastits more times than I can remember.

Re: It's World Breastfeeding Week- what's your success story?
I nursed DD until 27 months. Not ebf because I had a low supply and she had latching issues, but once we got things going it was mostly BF, some supplementing! We saw an LC and I went on a milk increasing regimen for a while. It wasn't easy but it became an amazing bond we had that even after weaning we still have.
DS is 5 weeks old and while I supplement because he eats so much, he is a happy nurser and I hope to go 12-18 months with him ( I actually don't want to go as long this time for personal reasons).

Re: It's World Breastfeeding Week- what's your success story?
BF my DD for 10 months. When she was 5 months, I had to stop BF her due to a massive kidney infection I developed. I was told I was not allowed to BF on the strong antibiotic I was on. So she was bottle-fed for 10 days (thank God for that freezer stash) and after 10 days, she latched on and nursed like a champ, just like she had never been away.
I found out later from my LC that my doctor was misinformed, that I didn't have to pump and dump after all
I wasn't as successful w/ my DS. He had awful latching issues and would get VERY frustrated and he'd wind up falling asleep from the frustration. I am happy that he was able to get pumped BM until he was 6 months old, at least 1 bottle a day.

Re: It's World Breastfeeding Week- what's your success story?
15 months EBF...darn kid refused the bottle
currently at 4 months and going strong. Gratefully both will take bottles of pumped BM but with a toddler and twins pumping is nearly impossible.
