IUI costs without insurance
Learned today that DH's benefits are changing for 2010. Huge cutbacks in IF coverage. Oddly, the program will cover IVF (up to $100,000), but not IUI.
If you've had to pay for an IUI out of pocket, how much did you pay and for which services (iui itself, sperm washing, follow-up sono)?
thanks!

Re: IUI costs without insurance
I think it DRASTICALLY depends if the IUI is with Clomid or with injectible meds (Follistim/GonalF).
Clomid is cheap (about $10 oop) per course.
Follistim is PRICEY (about $1000 oop as per my pharmacist)
Ovidrel shot is about $80 oop.
Each sono is $200 (at minimum I've done 3 per cycle...one at start, one at about CD 11, and one at day of IUI)
IUI $200 (only 1)
Sperm wash $150 (only 1)
Each blood hormone level $75 (those levels you take are 2 of these)
Depending on your MD: you will need varying numbers of each.
