I've got a cold cut question for you all...
How long do you keep deli meat in the fridge before you toss it? My mom says to throw turkey out after 3 days and the other stuff can stay up to a week.
Thank you.

Re: I've got a cold cut question for you all...
I really only keep it a few days...I just don't like cold cuts after 2-3 days. But, I will keep yellow american cheese for about a week or so...that stays good.

I thought 3 days was a bit "dramatic". Now I feel better buying 1/2 pound at a time!

I give turkey 5 days at most (I try not to buy too much so it doesn't sit around.)
Roast beef, that I chuck after a few days!!!!

Re: I've got a cold cut question for you all...
I have to go by the 3 day rule on the turkey, longer for cheese.
I only do it because I dont' have a sense of smell. I've eaten cold cuts before and then DH comes in & throws them out because they've gone bad.

Oh, no doubt, if it's slimy it's shytcanned. I am totally skeeved by anything remotely gross. Besides, I make DH smell/taste anything that's questionable.

I hardly am able to keep them around more than a few days because DH eats them so quickly so I don't know.

Re: I've got a cold cut question for you all...
Usually about 5 days...the slime test is the best, they get tossed if they are the slightest bit slimy.
