Good luck Sonia!!!! I would love to get one too - I am not scared of the pain at all. Its just the decision of where on my body to get it thats holding me back. The design you picked is very pretty!

I have one and got it on my very low back (so most pants cover it) - it wasn't that painful b/c its a fatty area but I also didn't get it colored in - so it only took maybe 20 minutes. Pain level- probably equal to a bikini wax.
good luck! I actually love having one though, its very empowering when you do it!

my dh got one on his shoulder blade, and he said it HURT LIKE HE**. i got one on my upper outer thigh, and i have to say it didnt hurt bad at all.

i currently have 12 myself (but sat for 14), and am currently working on a half sleeve.
it honestly depends on each individual.
somewhere on me could hurt like a mother but not hurt you. and vice versa.
for ME the worst spots were:
the inner upper arm (under armpit),
my upper back (my wings, so between shoulder blades)
and nape of my neck.
the outline on my tummy hurt too.
so, i voted "1-5"... with it being an over 5.
some places were like a 1 for me while my inner arm was an 11!!!

I have one tatoo on my lower back (tramp stamp). For me, it hurt pretty badly and I have a high pain threshold. What hurt the most was the color when he was close to my spine. However, I love it and would do it all over again.

I have a small tattoo on my lower back on the right...It did hurt...i will NOT Lie...the outlining was not too bad, but when they colored it in (its all black) that hurt a ton!
just try to relax yourself before you go...I went with my DH and a friend and i just squeezed DH's hand till it was over..took about 20 minutes!

Pain, For me was painful, tolerable and yes, annoying and he did take breaks for me. It did take longer but 45 min was all it took for mine..which is not so bad.
Of course it depends on where you are placing it. I placed mine where it can get covered and yet be seen when i want it to be seen. Eveyrone is different.
Either way, GOOD LUCK-You can do it!!!
