Ivf meds with insurance
Question for girls who have some kind of drug plan I just got a run down of my co-pays for my meds. Most of it is"covered" but copays are insane. My total bill was 2600. Is this normal?
Thanks in advance!

Are your injectables covered? I had an insane bill like that then found out its because injectables were not covered.

Wow... that's a high copay. I think my co payswas $100 or $200. My first order (Lupron, Menopur, Bravelle, HCG, PIO) was 6,000. Right before retrieval I prematurely ovulated so my cycle was cancelled. We had to order more of the Menopur,Bravelle, and this time ganerelix. Came to like $2000. My copay was $100 or so.
When I switched REs my protocol was different and was stuck with left over meds. I was on Menopur, ganerelix, and Gonal F, HCG, PIO and only had $2000 left in IF med coverage to cover that. What I did was come home and count the vials of the menopur, ganerelix so I could order less than what the doctors orders were. The Gonal f was hard since it's so expensive. I received 1 from the insurance and was able to get some from donations and my RE.
You can definitely ask your RE for donations. I think it's best to do it in person oppose to over the phone. At least then they will look oppose to saying "we will call you". One thing I realized they over order and you can't return them to the pharmacy so you could always guesstimate what you will need to reduce the amount and save money out of pocket.
