IVF Question - Day 14 & 21 appointments???
Hi everyone!
We will be starting the IVF process this month, but I'm a little confused about my next 2 appointments. I will call the office to follow-up, but I figured that one of you might know the answer!
The coordinator said that I needed two appointments - one that is generally done on Day 14 and another that is usually done on Day 21 - all of this is prior to starting Lupron about 1 week after ovulation.
Because of our upcoming vacation, they won't be done until about Days 21 & 22, but apparently they need to be done on different days??
And to make things more confusing, I explained that because of my cycle (I'm not taking any BCP) my 'Day 14' is usually around Days 18-21, but the coordinator said that my cycle has nothing to do with these tests.
Questions for all you BTDT ladies:
1) what are these two upcoming tests? can they really not be done on the same day??
2) if they are 'supposed' to be done on Day 14 & Day 21, WHY does it not matter when I have actually ovulated??
Hoping that someone can shed some light on this for me!!

I honestly have no clue, sorry...what clinic do you use? Maybe someone that also goes there can shed some light.

Hhhmmm...maybe the water sono for CD 14. I went there but not for IVF. Did they say if it was bloodwork or more of a "procedure"?

No, I already had the water sono. Did that last month since they said that that was the one test that my insurance would cover w/o immediately going on to ivf.
They said that they were actual appointments, definitely more procedures than monitoring.

Sorry, I was reaching! Maybe try x-posting to pregnancy or parenting...some grads might have the answer for you. Are you going to call tomorrow to get the answers? Now I'm curious!

So I just got off the phone with the IVF coordinator. She said that the two appointments are the Trial of Transfer (measuring the cervix) and then a sonogram before starting Lupron.
Glad to know what the appointments are about!
