IVF Updates--BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I figure I'll just keep using this thread to post my updates on:
Retrieval
Well, on Monday they saw 12 -15 follies. I had much bigger ones the right then the left. They even thought I might stim and extra day or two to let the others catch up but I guess my blood indicated that I was ready to trigger. I was nervous that I was going too soon but I figured maybe they'd get at least 10 eggs. They only got 6. I guess I'm kinda disappointed. Now I'm just praying that we get at least 2 fertilized-our plan is to put two back on Sat. We are doing ICSI. Dr. Brenner was very reassuring that 60% usually fertilize so he said even if we have 2 to put back and 2 to freeze that's great. I was very happy he was on today. Now I'm just resting and trying not to worry--which I feel is IMPOSSIBLE right now. Anyone have any reassuring stories w/ only 6 eggs? THANKS

Transfer!!!
Well the transfer was today...Andrea came and I had acupuncture before the transfer and then we transferred two grade 2, 7 cell embryos! I'm not exactly sure what that means but Dr. Brenner said it was very good so I'm going with it! Today I'm relaxing and having a little housewarming party in my tummy for my little embies! STICK STICK STICK!!!!!
We were also lucky enough to get the other 4 to freeze! I'm feeling so good about this let's just hope the next couple of weeks go fast!

BETA!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG I am so excited to finally report my BFP!!!!! I started testing last week b/c I had a weird rash that doctors wanted to give me meds for so I tested last Friday and got darker lines from Friday on! It was so hard holding it in but we wanted to wait until we heard the beta number and it's 407!!!!!!!!! We are beyond thrilled and just hoping that things continue in the right direction. Thank you so much for all your support!

6 is a good number!!! Dr. Brenner is right. There is a GREAT possibility that about 4 will fertilize. That leaves you with two to put back in and 2 to freeze!! Keep positive!! Sending you for a great fertilization report!!!!

I am happy to see that you made it through retrieval OK. With ICSI they can get good fertilization rates so try to stay optimistic. You will know tomorrow how you did and the best 2 will come back to you on Sat. Here is some

I wouldn't worry too much about 6 eggs, that's still a great number. I had 6 my first IVF too. 5 out of the 6 fertlized with ICSI. 3 made it to transfer day and we put back all 3.

Remember, it's not about the quantity although it's great to have enough to freeze, it's all about the QUALITY!

I have a success story to share that will make you feel good! My friend only had 5 eggs retrieved. Two fertilized and were put back in. She now has a one year old son

Additionally, she and her DH decided to toy with the idea of trying last month (thinking she would probably need IVF again)...She is now PG from good ol BD after one month of TTC.

It only takes one good egg! My first IVF I had 5 eggs, 2nd I had 8.

I've always had low numbers. First cycle I only had 2 fertilize!!!! One of those was my son!!!

Quality! Not quantity!

Tomorrow they'll only tell you the number. The nurses call and they'll have no other info.

You'll find out the quality at your transfer.

Just the # that fertilized. Dr. K told me not to pay attention to today's # or tomorrow's.... he said it's what they see on transfer day that is
important.

ETA: They only tell you the quality of the ones you're putting back- they don't tell you the quality of the ones that are going to be cryopreserved... I was hoping to know all of them on transfer day but that wasn't the case.

I had six and transferred 2 on day 3 and am PG with twins. Were you on Ganirelix-that helps eggs to "catch up" with larger ones in situations like yours.

Just as the previous ladies have said, I got my fert call today and I only got a number. I was told that quality will be given on day of transfer.

i only got 6 eggs, 3 fertilized . i put back two and as of today i am 8w4d with one healthy baby. so just keep telling yourself(like i did) i only need one good one!
