We don't have a policy in writing. But many teachers wear jeans on Fridays. I do but I didn't until I had tenure.

I teach in the city so I can wear jeans any day I want. Not really sure why they allow this though....

I ALWAYS wear jeans of Friday- most staff do...we also have Spirit day Fridays (wear blue and yellow tees)
Sometimes I wear jeans on Thursdays or even wednesdays depending on how I feel. Jeans are my go to staple when I'm bloated or uncormfortable! I alwasy wear with high heeled boots and blouses though

i am nyc too, as hard as i try, i almost always wear jeans on fridays, or snow days. but some of the teachers in my building wear the gym uniform or sweats!

I work in the city there is not OFFICIAL dress code. sometimes i wear jeans during th eweek but i always look nice and usually on fridays.

im not tenured, so unless it is a day like this friday which is breast cancer awareness day and you pay 5 bucks and you wear pick and jeans, I don't wear them!

spirit days are fridays, so we're allowed to wear jeans/sneakers on fridays - looked down upon during the week
admin discretion in our county in fl, but most schools are ok w/capris during the week as long as they're dressed up

We have no dress code, but I usually save jeans for Fridays, but some teachers wear them everyday. My school is very casual, I wear flip flops everyday

I wear jeans every day. I am much more productive when I am comfortable in my clothing. In 11 years, I have never been asked to change.

our district does it as a fundraiser... "Dollars for Denim" they call it. in the beginning of the year, they count up the number of fridays in the school year, and if you want to wear jeans on fridays, you pay $1 for each friday. so, this year there are 34 fridays, so you paid $34.
the money goes to a different cause every year i think. i think one year it went to hurrican katrina, this year its going to a schlarship fund for high school students who have been through our district.... its a neat thing...

I wear jeans on Fridays. So many people I work with dress like such slobs that this year I started dressing down a bit. I have a few pair of denim trousers, which I wear with nice shoes and dressy tops. That's my usual "uniform"

Jeans, flip flops, and an Antioch Elementary School t-shirt every Friday.  I love having to only pick out 4 outfits every week!

wow..i work in a Catholic School. I can't wear jeans at all unless i have a dress down pass (usually given as a gift) or if our principal tells us we can because we did some fundraising thing or have a walk-a-thon etc..

I haven't yet this year, but usually I wear jeans on Pay day Fridays and most of the time on snow days...
we do not have a dress code- and many people wear jeans whenever they feel like it- it is a good mix on how people dress-
Funny though- the kids really notice it- The other day I had a girl tell me that I dress really nice- I thanked her and she said, yeah you always look nice- no jeans, and even when you dress down you still look dressed up (lol) and then she added- not like some of the other teachers who dress like slobs-

Always on Fridays with our "Glitter Wear" It's a black shirt with ou school's name in rhinestony things.
My principalis very cool. You can wear jeans whenever but it's always dressed up a bit with nice shoes and a blouse.

i personally would not do it in my new district until I have tenure. We do have school psirit days so i do it then- but thats it.
In the city i did it - fridays only. I feel like inte beginning its better to dress more on the professional side because you are trying to establish you authority. JMO though.

I totally hear ya!! He feels it takes two seconds to throw more appropriate clothes in the car and change once you get to work.
