Jersey shore family friendly getaways?
x-post
Recommendations for a family weekend at Jersey Shore. We are looking for a short getaway on or near the beach with a 2 year old.
What towns are best? Hotel recommendations, please?
I am looking to book for last weekend in July
TIA

Ocean City, NJ is great! Its a "dry" town- so no bars or liqour stores in town. helps to keep the shady "Jersey Shore" crowd down alittle bit they also have a great boardwalk with rides, games, stores, boardwalk food its nice for when you want a break from the beach. I went to college right near there, and never stayed overnight... so i don't know of a place to recommend to stay. but there are a lot of private houses you can rent, plus condos and hotel rooms. LBI (long beach island) is also nice and family friendly. no boardwalk there, but they have a little amusement park and water park that are fun. there are some bars and stuff here, but still not much of the "Jersey Shore" element.

Re: Jersey shore family friendly getaways?
AS the PP poster has said Ocean City, NJ is a great family beach.
We also like Wildwood crest. You are only a few blocks from Wildwoods boardwalk and rides, but the crest has more families and you dont really get any teenagers/partiers.
ETA: the last few times we went to Wildwood Crest we stayed at The Port Royal and The Pan American. Both very clean hotels.

Long Beach Island. I grew up on the beaches there. Mostly Beach Haven but all the island is great. No crowds that come with the boardwalk towns but still have great shopping and amusement park/water slide for kids.
