Re: Jersey shore vacationers
i've never been to that resort, but i grew up in NJ.... is it in wildwood?? wildwood is one of those areas that can be a little bit sketchy. certain parts of it aren't so great... If you're looking for a place to take the kids thats family oriented, i would definitely look into ocean city, NJ. i went to school right near there and used to go there all the time. its a great town, very family oriented, with a great boardwalk.... its also a "Dry" town, so there are no bars or liquor stores on the island. but its definitely a step up from wildwood. not that wildwood is horrible, but ocean city is just really nice and clean with a lot of stuff to do.... let me know if you have any questions!

Re: Jersey shore vacationers
DH and I went one summer not to this place, but another. I will NEVER go again. Housecleaning stole, DH cologne, my bra's yes my bra's, DH had strep, she took his antibiotics, a six pack of beer two packs of cigs. I called the fromt desk to tell them and they asked if I left the door open, um no. Needless to say we left that afternoon, and I almost jumped the chick when I saw her in the parking lot. The hotel would not compensate us for any of it because "afterall, she has been with us for months".

we have been going to Cape May for the past 5 years and actually was just there this past weekend.
I don't know that resort, but Cape May is lovely. As another poster said, Wildwood is totally sketch.

Re: Jersey shore vacationers
I actually have to disagree a bit about the Wildwood angle.
We spent the fourth of July holiday down there and DH goes every year for a convention.
Where this place is located is Wildwood Crest (which is where we stayed when on vacation). But, it's also the "south" end of Wildwood Crest and nearer to Cape May (which in undeniably amazing!).
They call this area of Wildwood Crest "Diamond Beach" and if I were buying something, that's where I'd want to go. I think the Crest is much more family oriented.
True, the Wildwood proper area can be very sketchy but the Crest is really all-families -- and this Diamond Beach location is far enough away to be secluded and close enough to go there if needed and wanted.
