Jewish Funeral Question?
A friends mother has passed. They are burying her tomorrow. Not sure what I should bring/do. I'm going to the cemetary but, I don't think she is sitting shivah. Any suggestions would be great.

Re: Jewish Funeral Question?
if they are not sitting shiva, a sympathy card would be appropriate.
Maybe even a short visit..it's hard to be alone.
If you do go, bring some food.

Re: Jewish Funeral Question?
You could bring bagles, cream cheese and lox, or nuts and dried fruit. Sorry for her loss.

Re: Jewish Funeral Question?
If you are bringing food or having it sent, I would make sure it is kosher. You never know if the people hosting the shivah keep a kosher home or not.

Re: Jewish Funeral Question?
This link will tell you the Hebrew and English translation of the Jewish mourner's prayer. It will help you understand what they are saying.
