Jobs that offer day care
I was wondering if anyone knew of companies that offered day care at there place of employement???

My job doesn't have daycare at the premises but they offer 25% off at your choice of daycares.

Computer Associates - this is a montessori based learning program & is highly regarded.
VA Hospital in Northport - I love the teachers, don't like the director but it's a beautiful property.
Working for NY State - there's a day care in Hauppague but it wasn't very good from what I understand.

Stony Brook University and Hospital offer's daycare to employee's. It's a new center - really nice!

anyone know if any of the places are hiring... DH and I would love to start a family BUT we both need to work with the house and all so I Was looking into employers that offer day care - maybe it wouold be an option...

There are a few positions at my job. I think monster.com would have them. They don't pay very well though compared to other salaries I have seen on here though.

Stony Brook is always hiring - but the daycare center is just as $$$ as any center - about 1150 per month if you make over 80k combined.

WOW! - I didn't know that! All I saw was the sliding scale on the website. They have a LONG waiting list.
I don't know if you want to travel in the city but some of the larger companies there offer day care. I just don't know if it's free.

Cablevision in Bethpage I think offers very cheap daycare...it may even be free. You would have to call. They usually always have positions open. I dont know if this helps...but good luck! You can always try selling things on ebay!? I have my own store.

Yes, but it's a private daycare so while Hofstra employees are supposedly given priority when spots open, there is no guarantee and they get no discount vs. non Hofstra parents.

Cablevision doesnt have a daycare anymore.
Of course our luck, they had it for a while, and the year we had our first, I was all excited, and it closed. they no longer offer any daycare (unless my hubby's been misinformed  )
and it wasnt cheap at all. From what I remember it was close to 900- 1,000 a month.
This is going back a good 5yrs ago (that we heard about the price, then the next year it was stopped), so now im curious is there IS daycare offered to them.

I also recently heard of Gurwin Nursing home in commack offering daycare to employees. I had gone there with a moms group to do a halloween parade for the residents and saw cute little kiddies all over the place, playing, etc. and was told it was employee daycare.

From what i have learned, a lot of companies that "offer day care" actually offer a discount to a center outside from the work place. And actually the discount is usually not good.
My job had looked into offering this years ago and found it to be too great an expense for the amount of employees.

My company does that and the discount is 25% so it is not too bad and it is tax free up to $5,000.

SUNY Old Westbury also has a daycare. And there is one in Reckson Plaza (old EAB PLaza).

You are correct, Cablevision no longer has a daycare - they did years ago but closed it.

So sorry to hijack the post but I guess here is ANOTHER reason why DH and I have to put off starting a family. I cannot believe how expensive daycare is
Its almost more than our rent!

Yes they do .. my friend works there ( she is a nurse) and she loves the daycare and teachers.

that's another reason why so many people ages 18-34 are leaving LI. in other parts of the country, you can live better than here and on 1 income!
