Joey's Rash -with Picture- update

If anyone cares Chat Icon he has prickly heat.

___________________________________

Chat Icon
- he hasn't had any new foods
- I thought it was heat rash but I was gone this weekend and DH said it was worse yesterday ( why he didn't call the ped yesterday. . .Chat Icon lol) but I called the ped today and the on call doctor said it would've gone away if it was heat rash
- he has no fever
- they aren't blisters or filled with pus
- no new soap
- the ONLY new thing was the aveeno lotion I got the other day b/c he does have sensitive skin but it's been used before, so I can't imagine that being it.
-it doesn't seem to bother him
- it's just on his lower face and upper chest???

what in god name is this? They are like pimples underneath his skin

Re: Joey's Rash -with Picture

That looks like a rash my son gets from an allergic reaction-usually to food, but sometimes to a product. Stop using the aveeno and see what happensChat Icon

Re: Joey's Rash -with Picture

i would call your doctor, they can tell you his benedryl dose, it looks like and allergic reaction to something. it doesnt have to be anything new. People can develop a hypersensitivity to anything at anytime. HTH and that he feels better.

Re: Joey's Rash -with Picture

thanks ladies....

I'm going to have to back track for a few days, so far DH & I said:

* paper towels- I know it sounds silly but after feeding him we were using these little washcloths we had but lately have just been wetting a paper towel

* carrots

*aveeno sensitive cream, which would be so weird haha

*he's a drooling mess and smearing it across his face and it does drip down shirt when he doesn't have a bib on.

or maybe a shirt I thought I washed and didn't? who knows!

Re: Joey's Rash -with Picture

When Riley had a rash, they told me to give her a dose of benadryl (I think it's a 1/4 tsp) and then watch to see if it cleared up. If it cleared up, we could say it was an allergic reaction. If it didn't, it was a virus. Turned out it was a virus for her.

I hope you find some answers!Chat Icon

I'm not sure, I don't wash the sizes he doesn't fit into yet but now that he's in 6-9 I'm wondering if I skipped over a few outfits without realizing Chat Icon I just took all of this clothes in his closest and washed them. I'm crazy, I know but I just want to make sure.

DD gets a rash like that when she's especially drooly. I put some aquaphor on it and it's usually gone the next day or so.

Travis had some weird funky rash that I had no idea what it was from, but it was very little and minor. I put a little hydrocortisone cream on it and it went right away.

DS has a permanent rash on his cheeks and chin from drooling from teething and then sweating in his sleep and laying in it. Ped says he'll grow out of it eventually, until then just keep putting aquaphor on it. Is he teething alot in the past couple of days that would cause excessive drooling?

Re: Joey's Rash -with Picture

SAME EXACT REACTION
that Ethan had to Aveeno lotion.

My whole pregnancy I swore I would never use J&J, but's it's the ONLY one, next to California Babies that he doesn't react to.

Ethan had this all over his chest, head, thighs, etc. I threw it out.

I put cool face cloths on it. It disappeared on its own overnight.

Re: Joey's Rash -with Picture

dont know, but if I had to guess Id say allergic reaction. Oddly enough, Carrots used to make Eddie eczema flair up, so maybe there is a family sensitivity to carrots????

DS gets rashy like that from drool. The ped did say though that a food allergy would cause a rash around the mouth.

Could it be prickly heat? My baby gets it under his neck if he gets a little sweaty or if he is drooling a lot. I hope your baby feels better soon! Chat Icon

Poor baby Chat Icon DS had a rash like this when we wiped his face with paper towels. We had to switch over to cotton balls for a while! DS also gets a rash from Aveeno, we have to use Mustela.

I can't believe there are a few people on here saying Aveeno causes reactions to them too. Here I am thinking I'm buying him the better sensitive stuff & yet it could be making him worse. Oye!
