Re: has anyone seen a rash like this..

Where is the rash? All over? I would go to a pediatric dermatologist and get a third opinion.....the fact that the first two doctors don't agree would make me nervous. Has she had any new foods?

My DD was just diagnosed with Impetigo. It's also a staph infection that has no pain, but spreads because it itches and they scratch it. For my DD it wasn't severe since we caught it early and she just needed an RX cream.

Did they give you a cream or antibotic?

then it's probably not Impetigo. Impetigo is scabby or crusty. Hmmm maybe bring her back to the ped again if its spreading.

me neither. When DS had a food allergy he was red all over with small pimple size hives and he blew up like a balloon.

I am not a doctor, but I would ask for a 3rd opinion with a dermatologist. Good luck, I hope she feels better soon!!!

looks like a fungus on the skin.. did you take her to a ped dermatologist? he can scrap it and put it under the microscope to diagnose it..

Re: has anyone seen a rash like this..picture fixed now !!

A few months ago I had a rash that both my endo and primary physician simply blew off...and suggested I go to either a rheumatologist or a dermatologist....

The derm knew what it was right away and said that it was my bodies reaction to either stress or an infection I had had months previously...

What I had was something called Pityriasis Rosea.

In between the appointment with the derm I did a lot of looking online...Can you take some pics of the rash itself? Is it only on her legs and tush?

You mentioned food allergies what kind of food allergies does she have?

it looks like it could be ringworm... does it seem to itch her??
OR... i'm not sure if shes been outside a lot or anything, but i had a rash sort of similar to that that didn't itch... it ended up being from lymes disease. has she been tired or had a fever lately? good luck!

Re: has anyone seen a rash like this. UPDATED WITH ANOTHER PICTURE !

The second picture looks a little like ringworm. Ringworm is a fungus on the skin and can look like rings with a raised outside circle. If it is, it is not a big deal but it is contagious. Usually, an ointment that the dr. prescribes is used to treat it.
Do you have cats?

Re: has anyone seen a rash like this. UPDATED WITH ANOTHER PICTURE !

It kind of looks like what my son had about 2 months ago but your DD's look a little bit more intense. The ped said it was an allergic reaction to either something he ate or came in contact with or it could have been an allergic reaction to the albuterol. Has she taken this? The rash latest for about a week. He was on benedryl every 6 hours.

Re: has anyone seen a rash like this. UPDATED WITH ANOTHER PICTURE !

That looks like bad eczema! My son use to get it bad like that, and my Derma gave us a great cream for it and it took it away, every now and then he will get one or 2 patches back, but I would go to a dermatologist and see what they say!
