july 4th 1st and 31st birthday ideas
July 3rd is DD 1st birthday
July 4th is husbands 31st birthday.
We are planning a vacation during that time now but not sure what to do for DD.
It will be just the 3 of us as we have no friends and all of our family is in other states.
What are some things that DD might enjoy?
We have considered just heading to the beach but it will be packed due to july 4th and that seems like not such a good idea with a tiny DD that will want to explore.
I know it is early but i am thinking of maybe getting away somewhere close? any ideas
ohh and no flying as per me being in third tri by that time

I can totally relate as my bday is July 5th & DD's is July 7th. Last year we had her big 1st bday on July 5th (Sat) & had a huge red/white/blue bash.
Yet some places that are relatively close/fun are: Kennebunkport Maine (we did this one year on the 4th), very family friendly
or
Point Pleasant, NJ
or
staying local & taking in all the local fireworks/events going on; having a picnic at a local park.

I was going to suggest Point Pleasant. It is a great day trip. My DD is a July baby too and we took both kids last year a few time since we live close to their and she was 1 at the time and was able to go on a lot more rides than I thought she could. They also have a small aquarium there.
