June and other summer mommies- is your going home outfit..

...long or short sleeves?

Just curious. I am SO confused about this.
Some people say they should be dressed a bit warmer for the AC in the car and house.
Others say no, they can overheat.



I have both long and short sleeved outfits but I'm nervous about which one I should use...

I'm bringing 3 outfits with me to the hospital because I'm having the same dilemma that you are. I have a larger set of footy pjs and then a NB and a 0-3 month outfit with a short-sleeve onesie, pants and socks. I figured that I'd just make the decision on that day depending on what the weather was like.

I was told that it's better for a baby to be a little cooler than a little warmer - and I was told this when I had my first and she's a January baby.

The 2 outfits that I have are both 1-piece short sleeves, short pants outfits.

Bring a blanket to throw over the carseat, socks and a hat. If it's hot, take something off.

i think i am going to go with long sleeved cotton footies ( not sure what they are really called ) so that Daddy doesn't complain about keeping the A/C down

i have 2 outfits that are packed...one is long sleeve and legged onsie and then i also have a short sleeve romper just incase we have another 90 degree day (also bringing socks, hat and receiving blankets)

As a mom of a June baby (although 2 years ago) LOL, I would recommend long sleeve. It is warm outside but you will have the a/c on in the car. If you have CAC in your house too, long sleeves are better. Babies are SO sensitive to cold when they are first born.

I have a short sleeve and little pant outfit, as well as a footie pj type outfit. Both have hats, and I have a little blanket for DS that I keep in the car, so if I think she needs that I'll throw that on her too.

I really think your best bet is to bring a short sleeve and a long sleeve because you just never know if your going to have a really hot day or a cool rainy day, and decide on the day you bring baby home.

My shower is this weekend, so I will wait to see what I get and then take it from there. I need to pack my bags sometime in the few days after my shower.

I'm thinking I will pack both long and short sleeved outfits.

I have two sets of outfits (preemie and newborn, depending on what the twins fit into) and they are all short sleeves. I figure I will use blankets in the car.

I am packing a little dress with a sweater, hat and booties.

this was i can cover her legs if its too cold or take off the sweater if its too hot.

We brought DS home in September and it was 85 degrees out. He was in a short-sleeved onesie, pants and a light jacket.

He was fine because the car was air conditioned but we took off the jacket as soon as we got home. I would just stick with a short-sleeved outfit and bring a blanket if it's cold from the AC.

Two short sleeved, RL onesie outfits.

I plan on using knit hats as well ( some that grandma crocheted) and a knit blanket over them.

same, though given how hot it was here this weekend, i may throw in a short sleeved onesie and pants just in case. will see what the hospital thinks.

Same outfit that I brought DD home in 3 years ago (both are late-June babies). It's a one-piece sleeveless/shorts outfit. Then I had little cute socks on her and a light blanket over her in the carrier. Same plan this time too.

I really should decide on this since I'm being induced tonight. Right now the two outfits I have are long sleeves. But I think I'll throw in a onesie and pants for good measure.

I don't have the exact dress yet but my plan is to bring a dress, booties and a hat...and then bring a knit cardigan and blanket to drape over her if its a little cool for her. I figure if I do layers I can add or take away whatever is needed.

And a/c's are adjustable so I can always make sure its perfect for her...

I have 2 outfits. One long sleeve feety pajama w. a hat.

I also have a pants w. footies and a short sleeve top. It also comes with a matching long sleeve top just in case.

I am packing a blanket.

I am packing a pair of long sleeve footed PJs as well as a onesie that is kind of like a onesie/short mixture. Also I packed a light blanket.

If I need anything else DH can always bring something from home for me.

I have a short sleeve outfit ( one for a boy and girl) and a long sleeve gender neutral footed outfit - I am going to ask at the hostpial what they recommend.
