just an fyi for those who have summer monitors and run into problems..
dd is three and her old camera wasn't working too well anymore....but we'd been using it for 3 yrs and it was beyond warranty so I found one on an amazon vendor and we bought a new one in january...except that lately, the handheld screen thing where it turns on and adjusts the volume has been flickering out unless you press it carefully (hard to explain, sorry! ) so we can't hear it...I called summer today and they offered to send me a replacement for free, but it would be a few days...well, you know this is my 3 yr old diabetic dd so I told them I couldn't do it...so instead I gave them a cc # and they will not charge me but will hold onto it until I return the other one....I know I have seen it posted on here that you have to be without one for a few days, but apparently, they have a new option....

That's interesting. My monitor has the same problem and it's only a year old. It's very aggravating to get the sound to work. When I called Summer they just told me to clean it with compressed air. It didn't work. Maybe if I call again and get a different person they will send me a new one too. That's good to know about their neew policy though. thanks for sharing!

Mine does the same thing. You have to get it juuuuuuusssssttttttt right for the volume to be "on".
They were actually on my list of people to call tomorrow!

Summer is very good with replacements - even if your warranty is up they will send you a new one (or parts) for 50% off retail.

OMG I have the SAME problem with mine. It is actually a replacement for my original one. That one had great sound but the picture went out. SO frustrating!!!
