Just curious - eye color changes?

So DH and I both have brown eyes. I was convinced our baby would also have brown eyes. But now DS is 8m old and still has very blue eyes. They are a darker blue, but they haven't changed much since he was born. I'm just curious, did anyone experience their child's eyes turning brown later than 8m old? His grandfathers both have green eyes but I'm really not convinced that his eyes won't be brown

YEs, my DS's eyes were blue for a LONG time - around one they turned to green and around 16 mos to hazel and now, at 5 they are a very light brown/somewhat hazel.

My son is 8 months too with very blue eyes but dh and I are both brown. Only blue was my father. I can't imagine them not being this blue now. I can imagine them becoming a darker blue or gray but to totally change to brown would be so strange now!!

Yes, DD's eyes were blue at birth, a dark royal blue. They are now a grayish/brownish weird (but very pretty) color. I'd say the change started around 11 mos, she's 14.5 mos now.

DH has light blue eyes, I have brown eyes.

DS eyes were gray when he was born and for at least 4 months after. They change color every now and then but I think they will be hazel like DH. Mine are kind of light brown (coffee)

My DS's eyes were crystal blue blue up until a few months ago - now they are more green.

DDs eyes did not change until she was almost 2 years old.

My MIL said DH's eyes changed when he was one. I hope DD's stay blue because I have blue eyes and DH is a carrier of the gene, so we have a good shot!

I know my niece's eye color changed from blue to brown at 9 months. Right now my dd has like a slate blue color... Sometimes they look green... Sometimes hazel... Its really strange... DH and I both have brown. Dd is 7 months and I keep wondering what she'll end up with

my son had the lightest blue eyes until almost two when they started to turn yellow/green. At 4, they are now a green/light brown color.


My daugther was born with light blue eyes as well. At almost two, they are turning a greenish color.

I have green eyes and my DH has light brown eyes.

My first two have blue eyes and they only ever got lighter, never darker.

My 3rd was born with dark bluish eyes and they have changed to something that is not blue but not brown or hazel. I can't really describe the color other than saying a dark grey I guess? I'm assuming they are still changing and will turn a green/hazel like my DH or brown.

My oldest DD's eyes started to turn from blue to green around 7-8 months old. Then changed from green to brown around 1.5 years old. DS#2 eyes changed to brown much earlier.

DH & I both have brown, DS was born with dark Blue eyes and now @ almost 2 1/2 his eyes are still crystal blue.

DH's Father had Blue and my Dad was Green.

My DDs eyes went from bright blue, to hazel green by about 1.5- 2 years old so 8 m is way too young to know.

eta- I have brown eyes but my dad has blue. DH has blue eyes and his dad has green.

DDs are hazel green, took a long time to change.

Wow I didnt realize it took so long to change color. My kids have blue eyes but they are my shade. I wasnt holding out any hope theyd stay blue bc dh and his entire fam have brown.
