Just finished the last training run for cow harbor.

Week 6 is done! I finally came in under 60 minutes. It was about time! Anyone else definitely running the race? We should get an LIfamilies team

Not running Cow Harbor but wanted to say good luck! I'm training for a 10k now, its at the end of November. Let us know how it goes!

I'm running it! And thankful that I still have another week to train - I am not at all where I want to be yet!

Last year I trained regularly for months (it was my first "real" race) and then my DH ran a couple of times before the race, was behind me the whole race then caught up to me on Main Street and beat me by a minute.

I REALLY don't want him to beat me again this year so that is my motivation!! Haha.

I'm not going to lie, this is going to be extremely tough for me but I have promised myself I am not going to care about my time just on finishing. I hope it doesn't hurt too badly

I'll be there. I had a great time at the training runs...but I wimped out yesterday when I heard thunder - I was disappointed that nothing came from it!


I was really glad to do them - I definitely feel ready and I feel like I know the course intimately

I can only run 4 miles now so I will be VERY slow- I only care about finishing.

I wish I could have made it to the practice runs....

I will be there also, however a little nervous didn't do the training, just some running on my own. But I have heard horror stories about the hills so normally I wouldn't have a problem with 6miles but with hills, I guess we'll see

I just never got that training in. I will be cheering you on. I have a few 5k's set up for the fall for now!

I really wanted to sign up for this race and although I am able to run 6 miles on a flat course I am way too scared b/c I heard the hills are really tough so maybe next year. Good luck ladies you will all do amazing!

I am finishing up the last bit of training too! Enjoyed all the previous posts. Anyone can finish you just need to put your mind to it. I'm running less than a year after major open heart surgery, and then going on to run the NYC Marathon. Check out my blog www.heartosaurus.com. I would appreciate any support!
