after reading so many stories of poor pet owners...

wouldn't it be a good idea if they had to go to a mandatory class on pet ownership once adopting a pet for the first time?? i just think so many owners need to be trained on how to own and handle a pet along with what to do and most importantly what NOT to do (like DO NOT leave home for the weekend leaving your pet dog in the yard to fend for itself). sure some parts would be common sense but there's so many of these types of stories that the sense of it isn't all that common. plus they can throw in some good stuff for the ahem more intelligent owners out there to learn about (like the ah ha i never knew that before moments).

it seems to me that soooooo many people are mistreating their own animals and it's just disturbing to me.
