Just joined WW...need your favorite breakfast & lunch ideas, pls!!

Hi,
I know there's a WW thread but it seems more for sharing success which is great...wasn't sure if I should post this there or not.
Feeling overwhelmed just starting out & was hoping some of you could share your favorite breakfast & lunches & their points value.
Lunch has always been my biggest struggle when I've done WW in the past.
I have 2 little kids who keep me busy so quick & easy fits best in my lifestyle right now.

TIA & hope to be posting good news when I weigh in next week.
Good luck to everyone else out there trying to lose weight!

Re: Just joined WW...need your favorite breakfast & lunch ideas, pls!!

Hi!

So I am back on WWs for about 3 and a half weeks now, and I've done it before. Here are some of my go-to breakfast and lunch ideas:

Breakfast - I always try to have some fruit with breakfast.

Eggs - I like to spray a microwaveable bowl or cup with cooking spray and then crack an egg into it, cover in saran wrap, and microwave on high in intervals of 30 seconds. You can do a whole egg (just poke the yolk with a fork first) to make it kind of like a fried egg would be, or scramble an egg and some egg whites. You can then have that on whole wheat toast (even add a slice of cheese) or on its own with a side of turkey bacon or something like that.

I also like to hard boil eggs on the weekend to have as snacks or with breakfast during the week. As a breakfast, I would add a yogurt or a string cheese and some fruit.

Oatmeal - In addition to the regular ways, I've been doing overnight refrigerator oatmeal (you can find recipes on Skinnytaste and other food blogs, and pinterest)... take 1/2 cup dry oatmeal and 1 c. skim milk (I like almond milk), or you can use milk and Greek yogurt, add fruit, flavorings, nuts, chia seeds, etc. Chill overnight and eat cold in the morning (or you can heat it). I've also been doing savory oatmeals... cooking oatmeal hot and adding things like cherry tomatoes and parmesan, ham and cheese, scallions and soy sauce. I've also done baked oatmeal (there's a good recipe with banana and blueberries on Skinny Taste - you can make it in advance and reheat all week).

For something quick, sometimes I have the Jimmy Dean D-Lite frozen breakfast sandwiches or quesadillas (they range in point value from 6 to 8 pts).

I also sometimes have a high fiber cereal - like cheerios - with almond milk and fruit.

Or sometimes I have a frozen multigrain waffle or a high fiber bread spread with peanut butter or ricotta cheese and topped with fruit (berries, bananas, etc.).

Lunch -

A lot of times I have leftovers from dinners I've made during the week. I made spaghetti squash for dinner the other night, and had a portion for lunch today. I made a crock pot chicken chili type dish a couple of days ago and will probably finish it up for lunch tomorrow.

I also sometimes make a salad with leftover chicken or shrimp, or just use what's in the pantry (tuna, beans, etc.).

Sometimes I have a veggie burger on a low point roll, or cold cuts like turkey and cheese on a low point roll with a side of veggies and or fruit. Or maybe tuna or even a pb and j.

I like soup in the winter, too - I try to make my own (like on a weekend) and then eat it during the week) or buy one from the store that is not too high in sodium and is points-friendly (I like Amy's soups, or Trader Joe's).

In a pinch, I will have a frozen entrée, but they can be high in points and I don't find them that satisfying.

I definitely try to plan ahead and make some things in advance so then I don't have to start from scratch at every meal, you know?

Good luck - keep us posted on your progress!

recipes from Gina's skinny taste are so great for ideas.

plain greek yogurt with fruit, one splenda
egg whites/cheese on deil flat
boca burgers- 2 pts.
laughing cow cheeses
baby belle cheese
pop chips or 100 cal bag poporn for snacks
oatmeal with PB (tsp) mixed in
chopped asparagus with cup brown rice, salt/pepper dash or grated parm cheese

these are the things that get me through the week!
and of course fruits and veggies too.

Re: Just joined WW...need your favorite breakfast & lunch ideas, pls!!

I am not a huge breakfast person, so what I have may not be helpful.

For breakfast I tend to have a banana and a Yoplait Greek Yogurt (2pts and very good!).

High fiber cereal (some Kashi cereal I have found are very low in pts) with blueberries in it.

I also waste 4pts a day on creamer in my coffee Chat Icon

I have been loving the WW Veggie Soup lately. I make it on Sat or Sun and I have portions to last me the entire week (the soup is 1pt)...if I get hungry between breakfast and lunch, I have a veggie soup.

For lunch, I usually have a sandwich...I have been obsessed with Boars Head Chipotle Chicken Breast (Hungry Girl suggested it). I believe its 2pts for 2oz. I put that on WW Bread and add a 1/4 of avocado, lettuce, tomato, alfalfa sprouts, cucumbers and it ends up being very fillings and satisfying for me! Its usually a 6pt sandwich and sometimes I'll have some grapes with it or something.

I also like to grill pieces of chicken so I can make salads with chicken. I weigh everything, so I have a 3oz piece of chicken in a salad and you can go nuts adding things to your salad!
