Re: just making sure this board will stay alive

Happy New Year!

I had an interesting expierence that really stuck out to me that I don’t want kids. I was at my neighbour’s the other night (lives above me) and at one point I brought my sick (Hyperthroidism) cat up. This disease makes her vomit at times and run around. She’s good in different locations, so no fear of bringing her somewhere. The whole time I had to constantly watch her and make sure that she wouldn’t ruin anything— you know like a child. That was enough for me. I had kind of been on the fence.

I hope this doesn’t disturb anyone that I posted that because I know there are some that have IF.

dog, cats, rabbit horses etc they are our kids :)

the prob, those with the 2 legged kind sometimes dismiss the love we have for our furry ones as if they are less important.

I imagine it was stressful having to worry about the potential of her vomiting in some else home

i love it when certain things bring clarity. i always feel this way when my friends bring their kids to the beach and leave one with me to take the other one to the bathroom etc...i'm always like omg they're going to drown/get kidnapped/get bit by a shark or jellyfish or another kid/you name it. too much to handle. i can barely handle myself.

hope your cat is ok; a friend has a cat with this issue, been reading about a radioactive shot?

Totally agree and as much as I adore my niece and nephew, after a few hours I’m soooooo ready to resume being child free. It’s just - the energy level - the constant attention required - I can’t. I need a nap more than they (toddlers) do! Chat Icon

She wasn’t cleared for the radioactive therapy. She has high blood pressure and her kidney or liver levels are a bit elevated, which is not something they need if they put her under anesthesia.

I really have no plans. We did some traveling in the spring so now we are just relaxing and enjoying summer. It’s going so fast!!! I am a fall lover though, so no complaints here, especially after this heat wave! Hope everyone is enjoying the sun Chat Icon

Still here :)
Hope everyone had a nice summer! I like the fall but am not ready for cold winter weather! My parents retired in Florida (and are currently freaking out over the hurricane coming) but my plan is to go down a Lot to escape the winter! I booked a trip in November and am going to check out flights for January...I’m thinking every other month if my DH doesn’t mind...I’m a stay at home dog mom and frontier is soooo reasonable! My round trip ticket for November was $136 (out of islip into west palm)

that sounds nice, stay at home dog mom. I haven't taken a vacation since summer of 2010. Next week I', suppose to go to OK to a friends ranch, but I have a lot going on personally and now not sure I can. I paid $179 for south west non returnable, I can only change the date.

How your parents stay safe. You got a great price!!! have fun and enjoy

Thank you so much! How was the Ranch?! You need and needed a vacation! 9 years is too long to not take a break but I understand if you can’t. It’s nice staying home with my fur baby but some days are super lonely and boring:(
I have some illnesses that prevent me from working anymore...on the days I feel good I try to get out, take the dog to a park or something...I remember you were in the process of moving? How did it go?
