Re: just needed to get it off my chest(my pity party sorry its long) kinda update
right there with you. My neighbors had no idea I was even married.
Mine went in 3 times this week 2 hours before his shift started. He gave up his days off this week also. I know he has to do it to get ahead, but ughhhhh.
On top of all this, he takes up marathon running.
Early nights for us is him coming home at 9:30.
That's one reason I knew I had to sah...I would never see him if I worked.
From your post, I can tell, it doesn't get an easier. Josh now grabs his sneakers when he sees leo heading towards the door.
I have a great husband, hands over his whole check each week, zero vices. but I envy those who have weekends and nights together. Mine just has no idea on how to leave the restaurant. There is always something else he needs to do.

When I told my neighbor at the mailbox that I was married, she asked if he was in the military...no, just restaurants
After a quickie this morning I told him that was exactly what I needed to not feel like hired help today. Not even a roommate situation, but really, a nanny, butler, cook, laundry, accountant to this guy who comes in and out all week long.

Re: just needed to get it off my chest(my pity party sorry its long) kinda update
I am so sorry that you are in a situation like this too. My husband had to change shifts and it was even more on me than I thought it could ever be since I was off from work this week.
Is it possible to hire a mother's helper for a couple of hours a week??
Men truly don't get it because quite frankly when we really leave our kids alone with them all week. That just wouldn't happen. Even if it was for work, if they are anything like my husband some how they would still find time to watch the games and the grandmothers would be 'visiting' a lot.
Sit down and have a heart to heart with him but I think the mother's helper might be your best bet for you. Just so you can have some time for yourself-- Happy mommy= happy babies

Re: just needed to get it off my chest(my pity party sorry its long) kinda update
You can show your reply to your DH. My dad used to manage a car dealership- for most of my younger life actually. When my parents seperated my brother, sister and I did NOT even know for 2 weeks. I only found out because I went to look in my mom's closet for something and everything he owned was gone. This is because he put work before ALL of us. Of course, supporting his family is VERY important but at the end of the day 1 day off is not asking for a lot. He is giving up his relationship with his children. period. I think you need to speak with him in a very calm manner and tell him that you love him but you cannot be alone in this marriage and both parents to your children. You understand that he is working hard so you and your children have a home, food, medical, mommy/me etc.. but things are falling apart for you. You NEED him to come home for dinner one night a week (by 5pm) and take a full day off (NO Work unless a 911) each week. Your family deserves that, your marriage NEEDS this.l Then you need to leave the house for at least 2 hours on the day off and do something all alone. No kids, no cell phone!! Your sanity is the thing that keeps your home together so you need some time too. HUGS. I have lived this on the other side and it is really hard on everyone.

I hope it gets better. I handle DD on my own all week long. I don't know how you handle 2 on weekends as well. You definitely need a break. I hope you get one soon.
