I am sorry...bfns suck. You will get stronger and wil get through this. I hate to say this but it will be helpful to you to realistically understand that it can take several Iuis before a BFP. Like someone earlier said, you are going to have to see the long road to keep sanity and strength.

I totally agree. IUIs can work, but don't work 100% of the time.

I'm fully aware that they don't work 100% of the time, the first time or EVER for that matter but thanks for the reminder, because that is my only option at the moment. I don't think I was being unrealistic in hoping that after two and half years of trying that my first one just might work, I was actually trying to be optimistic.

The other people who responded aren't trying to crush your optimism, but rather point out that while optimism is important, being realistic about the effectiveness and speed of success with certain procedures is equally important for one's sanity. Everyone on this board is here to provide support and encouragement to those experiencing the struggles of infertility.

Yes, I agree with mrs.m84. I did not seek to insult you or your knowledge and I get that you know and can still be crushed when it doesn't work. I said what I said because I have been there. We all have. We have all prayed for the miracle first time and it was a knife to the gut when it failed. I know your pain and I know that you will get stronger....whether you want to or not. This process has a way of kicking the strongest persons butt and teaching them entirely new levels of who they are and their relationship.

Maybe you didn't want advice....maybe u just wanted to be heard and your pain witnessed. I get that and I hear it.

Good luck with your next steps. I will be rooting for you.

I agree. I wasn't trying to be a "Debbie downer" just more of a realist. I never did IUIs since I know my reason for IF (IUIs would of never worked)I went straight to IVF which started in April 2011 and I didn't get a BFP until January 2013 . I did 6 cycles(fresh and frozen) before it worked. Some ladies get BFP on here from their first it all depends on your body and the embryos.
