Just started my 37th week & had my growth sono - is he too little at 6.11lbs?
He weighs about 6 pounds 11 oz.. that seems so small to me - I am starting my 37th week. How much more weight do you think I/he will put on in these last 2.5 - 3 weeks? I just had a huge piece of cheesecake to help with the cause....

I had one last week at 37 weeks 5 day and my  was only 6lbs 5 oz. I thought that was small but the dr. said its ok.

Babies put on 1/2 to 1 lb per week at the end! That is a great size

In birthing class we learned the average baby is born between 7 and 8 lbs.
I was born at 6lbs 7 oz and got a perfect 10 Apgar score- so I wouldn't worry.
Unfortunately that sveltness has not carried over into my adult life, lol.

I was born at 38w at 6lb 8oz, and was perfectly fine.

That is a good size and NOT small at all! They grow a lot in the last few weeks

At 38 weeks  is measuring 6lbs. At 36 weeks he was 5lbs 2oz. I was told is on the small side of average so you should be fine!

My daughter was born at 6lbs 9oz so I dont think at 37 weeks that is small at all.

At 35 weeks, my BFF's baby weighed 4lbs. She just gave birth on Friday and had an 8lb 2oz boy! They can grow a lot in the last few weeks! AND, growth sonos can be off!

from what ppl have posted it seems like growth sonos aren't always accurate.
i wouldn't be worried regardless unless the dr said something

oh wow! That is quite a difference.
Thanks everyone. I feel better now. I didn't get to see the Dr & speak to him about the growth sono so I was worried. The tech said the weight was fine but I would have preferred the Dr tell me that.

LMAO as to the cheesecake!
That is perfectly normal and growth sonos are just estimates. They are plus or minus a pound. That is perfect for where you are in your pregnancy!

you are fine! Like others have said, its just an estimate.
My dr's were convinced I was giving birth to a giant baby, and she was only 7 lbs 1 oz. I didn't buy any newborn clothes for her, only 0-3 months because of this, and they were swimming on her!
Everything is fine with your baby! Relax, and enjoy cheesecake anyway :)
