Just want to share this..yes total judgement if you open it...
I was at the ped office tonight, and was waiting to be called in. Usually make conversation with people in the waiting room, etc. There was a set of grandparents waiting in the waiting room, with a goregous little girl around 2ish. They were adorable. Interacting with her, playing...they kept telling her that mommy was on her way, meeting them...well, they were waiting for just about 15 minutes when mommy walks in.
She attacks grandma for the outfit she had her in, asks where the coat is, (mind you grandma had it in a giant diaper bag along with snack, toys, and lots of other stuff) She just continues to make fun of her...on and on...nit-picking...etc. I mean come on woman...grandma and grandpa actually brought your LO the DR!!
It really irked me. If my DS had grandparents (unfortunately, they all passed away before he was born) I would be so appreciative just to have them in our lives. I could not even stomach to listen to this woman berate her mother in front of a crowded waiting room...
It further sickened me the way she was clearly unappreciative of her parents helping her.

when i see situations like that, I try to remember that I don't know the full story or the other side of things, etc, etc
....but of course I would initially think the same as you did.

Grandparents who are WILLING to help should be appreciated...because until someone doesn't have that, maybe they can't understand

In the back of my head I did think perhaps there was more to it...and there very well could have been more to it..could have been her awful in laws..but later found out it wasn't, because she was complaining about them too...lol...
either way, save the bickering for home...not the ped's office

I can't stand people like that...my DS is blessed to have all 4 grandparents and even 5 great grandparents...i could never imagine talking to my mother like that should would kill me

you just never know the whole story...
my mom watches my kids and i am beyond grateful. one day she met me at the mall so we could get DS a haircut. the outfit she had him in was BEYOND embarrassing. i took one look at him and was like "what were you thinking!!!??" i wasn't yelling or anything, more half haughing, half outraged. so although i was grateful that my mom got him ready and met me, i didn't stop making fun of her (or my poor son)  for the whole trip to the mall. (and as soon as i got home, the clothes went right into the donation bag in the garage!)
granted, i wasn't mean or berating my mom, but you just never know what goes on behind closed doors. it's not always easy having family watch your kids for you, especially when they have their own agendas and/or opinions about what is best.

I know we don't have the whole story, but I agree with others who have said... if you have grandparents WILLING and ABLE to help to that extent... sheesh, lighten up, it's just a damn outfit on a kid... not a pageant! It's the doctor's office for crying out loud.. this lady should see the things I dress my kids in for doctor appointments! Not like the doctors care what a kid is wearing and when I'm at the doctor's office usually I'm thinking about more important things than the fashion trends of 0-18 year old. Sorry, that just irks me.

As someone who ADORES her parents and can't stand to hear people VENT about their parents over nonsense stuff, I would of made a comment.
Grandparents ARE still parents and deserve to STILL be RESPECTED!!!!! Bottom line.
ETA: I dont care what the story may be at home. There is no excuse to disrespect your parents, in public, in front on of DC.
WE will all be granparents and inlaws one day. KARMA. Just saying

my mom and dad watch DD two days a week. if i carried on like that woman did my mother would have given it right back to me. too bad her mother didn't embarrass her right back.

My mother would have dressed my kids better than I do - she had the means to do it. May she rest in peace.
BTW, my MIL has taken Abby to the peds office without me on more than one occasion and she brought her in pajamas. I just wanted her seen and treated quickly - what she would be wearing made no difference. Going to a peds office (at least for a sick call IMO) is VERY different from being out and about. Usually, whenever someone else is watching my child, I ALWAYS leave 2 changes of clothing out in the event of an accident - so they are always dressed the way I'd like them to be.

While I am not judging based on what the mother said because you never know the whole story, I am judging that mother for airing her dirty laundry for a bunch of strangers to hear. You want to rip someone to pieces, do it where others cannot hear you.

My mom sometimes gets on my nerves..that no secret...sometimes mothers do. BUT to totally berate her..especially when she's doing a favor..not acceptable. My parents pick up the baby from daycare when DH can't and I think my mom probably takes care of DS better than I do.

it shouldn't matter. have enough self respect in the very least to not act like an ******* in public.
even if they DESERVE to be yelled at by you, keep that ish private. it only makes the person look bad, as clearly it did for the OP.
