Just watched the Special Olympics on the Family channel...
It was so beautiful - it took place in China, so most of it was in chinese, but these athletes are so amazing!!!
I was crying at how wonderful this event was!!!

In high school, I volunteered at the the special olympics. It was by far one of the most moving things I have done in my life.
They played "One Moment in Time" by Whitney Houston at the opening ceremonies and to this day I cannot listen to it without gettng a lump in my throat because of it.
The athletes (and their families) are truly inspiring.
I highly recommend volunteering at least once in your life. I guarentee it will be something that stays with you forever.

I did this too each year in HS (Whitney song and all!!)I always goT a bit teary eyed but was also inspired by such spirited athletes who really gave it their all!
