Just when you thought we were done with Swine Flu Qs - WWYD?
Earlier this year I reconnected with a cousin on FB... we hadn't been in touch in 18 years, so naturally she's never met DH or DC. We made plans for her to come over this Sunday for her to finally meet my family.
She called me last night to give me a heads up - she's a teacher and there are a couple of people in her school who have the dreaded swine flu and they are NOT closing her school to clean it or whatever.
She is leaving it up to me to decide if she should still come visit this weekend. I'm really torn on this. I'm not one to worry about every 'what if' and germ that's out there, but at the same time... I don't want my kid to get swine flu!
Opinions? TIA!

I would NOT go, no way in Hell.
I actually did not go to a family party b/c a few of the kids schools had closed due to swine flu suspicion.
No way, resched!

I would still get together.
My mom teaches and one of her students had Swine Flu, I still went over and visited her.

How old is your DC? If they are over 3 I probably wouldn't be that concerned.
I personally would definitely reschedule but, I am pregnant and have a 21 month old - so both of us fall in the high risk category and I would never take that chance.

I would probably re-schedule, but honestly, it's becoming pretty widespread now, so there is probably no avoiding it. I saw that there are a couple of cases in Sachem now.

I would keep the plans. Unless she's sick or has the symptoms, I don't see why you not see her. As a precaution, just have everyone wash their hands as soon as the visit starts.

I would reschedule!! Andrew and Alexa were around someone that was around 2 people that we just found out have Swine Flu.
I have them stayed quarantined in the house and I am going to the Dr because he now has a bad cough and diarrhea. And Alexa is sleeping a lot more then usual.
Better safe then sorry. Now that it has directly affected me, I am more cautious about it

If it makes you uncomfortable to the point where you will worry then I wouldn't go.
That being said I work in a school that has not been shut down and several teachers and students have had it. I still go about my daily life and take care of my daughter who is the same age as Elizabeth. I just make sure I wash my hands and use Purell a lot.
