Kalahari Christmas time
So I booked Kalahari for us to go Dec 23 - 25. Anyone been during Christmas time? We are surprising the boys as their last big gift for Hanukkah. We usually go away during Christmas, but like this idea that's different. Said that they are open and all the food places too.
Any recommendations on restaurants close by? I believe there are some breweries too.
My boys are 9 and 7.
Any advise? Thanks

Re: Kalahari Christmas time
Never been during the holidays but you will have a blast.
Barley Creek Brewery is nearby- food is delicious, great kids' menu and tons of beer options.
Other than that we eat onsite. They have a bunch of restaurants now- Italian, Charcoal Grill place, a simple restaurant in the lobby if you want a quick lunch or a sit down breakfast, and a new burger place too. Just avoid the snack bar near the arcade- it was disorganized and the food stunk
Bring your own towels if you want something bigger/thicker than what they give out in the waterpark... i don't mind them but they are kind of small and thin
Definitely get some of those big ass drinks in the waterpark bars. SOOOOO good.
The other thing I always tell people- the park clears out around the dinner hour. If you can eat a big lunch before you go to the waterpark, or grab some snacks from the snackbar in the waterpark, and then go to a later dinner- you can take advantage of no lines for a few hours- which is awesome. Usually between like 630 and 8 the place starts clearing out for a bit.

Thanks! Will definitely check out the brewery. Figured one night just to get out for a dinner. Maybe Christmas Eve. Hopefully shouldn't be too crowded. They did say all the restaurants are open during the holidays

Kalahari Christmas time
We went to the steakhouse at Kalahari the last time we went and were pleasantly surprised - had a great bottle of wine and a nice meal in a fancy kid friendly atmosphere.
Park does clear out around dinner time. We either do late dinner or eat pizza poolside (it’s not the best but it’s there).
Some restaurants aren’t open at all times - it depends on occupancy.

Re: Kalahari Christmas time
We will be there on Christmas Day! This is the only thing my DS is asking for Christmas, he’s 2 and had a blast last year and keeps talking about it. So we are opening gifts and then heading out!
I made a reservation for the steakhouse inside Kalahari. We tried the burger place with milkshakes the last time we went and that was pretty good! I would not recommend the buffet, but I hate buffets in general so I may be biased. I would ask the front desk for opinions, we went to a brewery from a recommendation and it was very good, unfortunately I don’t remember the name.

we just came back from there, and ate breakfast there, it was really good. They now have a steak place and an Italian restaurant, but we didnt try it. There is a place called B Luxe, and that was really good. Good burgers and shakes.
