Katrina fever
Thats what some people in Texas are saying about the mandatory evacuations.
Rita is the 3rd most powerful Hurrincae of ALL TIME and these people after seeing all the lives lost in Louisana are STAYING?
Im sorry but they are complete idiots in my eyes....

Re: Katrina fever
Even though I do think that is a harsh word - I tend to agree now. I felt differently when some people on this board were saying that about people who chose to stay in NO because they didn't have a clue. In light of what happened with Katrina, how could they not evacuate for a Category 5 hurricane?

agreed....I see NO differently...but now when they know this storm is a definite Cat 5...why, why why??
Im just so angered by this, If I hear of able bodied people getting hurt or dying Im gonna freak...I hate seeing bad things happen when it can be avoided.
They had EMPTY buses waiting to get people out of Galveston...

Re: Katrina fever
I feel bad for the people who left NO to go to TX.
A lady I work with moved from FL to Dallas. She left FL to get away from the hurricanes and now she has Rita chasing her.
Don't these people understand, help can not get to you if their are is water blocking their way. The only way you can get help is by leaving. Pack up your stuff and go. That is what home owners insurance is for if their is damage. I understand the memories or the sentimental values but Mother Nature is not a forgiving lady. Don't take a bet with Mother Nature because you can and will loose. Mother Nature will kick your butt.
