I play Van Halen's "Right Now" for Kenneth to get him pumped for therapy -- and one line always gets me -- "The more you get, the more you want." ... It is so true. You don't mean to get greedy but I want him to have his life back and I don't think that is too much to ask for.
At first, all you want is for them to live, then, well if he could eat on his own and sit up on his own that would be great too, and then if he could just walk so his quality of life will be better -- and if he could speak and think like he did before -- I hope he can go back to work, etc. Then, before you know it you are like wow I'm asking for everything -- what happened to I don't care about anything - just don't take him from me??
Dani, there is a song that Jewish people sing during Passover that, I think, reflects some of what you are feeling. The song is called "Dayenu," which means "It would have been enough."
The song basically praises God for knowing that only going so far for the Jewish people would have been enough... but he went even further, and for that, they feel blessed.
For example:
If He had split the sea for us, but had not led us through on dry land, it would have been enough.
If He had led us through on dry land, but had not drowned our oppressors, it would have been enough.
I am not religious at all... but i truly believe that God knows when and what is "enough" - and he will give you what HE feels you need, and not a drop more or less. So don't feel guilty for wanting "more"!!!
So many continued for Kenneth.

What a great update. He's made so much progress!!
If his past success with all of this has shown anything is he is a fighter! I bet when he gets his words back he'll be going a mile a minute!

Don't feel like you are being greedy....of course you would want your brother to have his life back! I am so excited to hear how much progress he is making and am just waiting to get the update that he spoke!!!!

Another great update!  Don't feel you are getting greedy, you just want to see your brother back to the healthy person he as before
I think your parents taking the cruise with Christopher is a GREAT idea...It will allow them to get away from it all & regroup. Knowing your husband & you are there is enough to keep them going & hopefully Kenneth will be speaking at least "Hi" by the time they come back

Kenneth is doing awesome! All his hard work is paying off and all your hard work by being there all the time for him is helping him to do all of this!!!!! Just love when you talk about the interaction with Christopher! He loves that little boy so much you can just tell through the words!
I hope (I know) your parents and Christopher have the most amazing time on the much needed vacation!!!!!!!!!!

He is doing so beautifully and come such a LONG way. What an awesome song for you to play for him too. I always listen to that song when I need a pick me up..and it always helps. Continued prayers.
